Real Weddings: Emily + Phillippe

Emily and Phil’s classic Knoxville wedding had me at hello!  It’s the perfect combination of classic Southern charm and imaginative DIY elements, and I love the way that they incorporated their families into the day!

All of the lovely images are from Dixie Pixel Photography.

The peach and coral color palette is just gorgeous, and isn’t Emily a stunning bride?

Allison’s team created these adorable lollipop trees; each flower is hand-painted and individually attatched to burlap-covered tree forms.

Emily shares: “Our guest book was a gift from my parents. They knew I was stuck in limbo between traditional and eclectic, so they gave us a Wish Frame. We used strips of paper in our wedding colors and asked guests to write down a wish, prayer, or piece of advice for us. Then they rolled it up and stuck it in one of the honeycombs for us to take home and read later. We loved it!”

Emily says: “Both of our families are all about food. My father is a serious home chef and in Phil’s family, everyone has a specialty sweet. We asked aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents if they would bake something for the wedding and got an amazing response. My dad’s famous turtle cheesecake and brownies were there, and Phil’s mom made his favorite cherry cobbler for his groom’s cake.”

Emily and Phil left their reception in a shower of confetti! The ‘confetti’ was cut-up ribbon, and the signs on the bags say “Always Kiss at Stop Lights”, because Emily says “Phil and I always, always kiss at red lights, even if we’re irritated at each other.” Aw!

The Modern Hostess brings out the best of the bride and groom hands down!!! The details don’t overpower the wedding but brings out the touches of individuality perfectly. I wish I had a wedding like this. Great job!!!

  7. Allison has great style and most of all she has the ability to make the bride and groom look comfortable with her selection. I am one that is hard to please since I have been in the wedding consulting business for manny, many years and now teach how to be a planner/stylist for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I love her work!

  8. I love your bridesmaid dresses! I love the mediterranean from WTOO. What style did you choose? Im looking for a v neck dress

    Thanks!!!
