DIY Wedding Ideas: Custom Hardback Books

I adore books as wedding decor – perhaps you want to give them as favors, use them in centerpieces, or hollow them out for use in your invitations.  However you’d like to incorporate books into your wedding, this nifty tutorial from ohdeedoh shows us how to transform paperbacks into custom hardbacks in just a few easy steps.

I love the art of bookbinding (if you are a long-time EAD reader you might remember the save the dates I created many moons ago for my vow renewal using bookbinding techniques), and I think this is a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding.

Are you incorporating books into your event?

we heart your comments!
  1. I am a printmaker and book artist, and I have plenty of book-related details in my wedding (exactly one week away!)

My fiance proposed to me in a book (because he knows how obsessed I am with making them). I letterpress-printed and handbound by wedding invites as books. I’m using old books as centerpieces. And there are torn pages from old books incorporated into our “guestbook” table.

  2. What a fun idea! I”ll definitely suggest the idea to my sister!

  3. Excellent tutorial. Thank you for sharing it. I’ve seen a few different ways on how to do this but this looks the easiest (and I love easy!!)
