I have to admit, I’m finally adjusting to this wonderful nip in the air, and it’s getting me so excited for Thanksgiving! We adore going to one of Chicago’s many restaurants to have turkey and pumpkin pie, and seeing a movie (this year it will be Harry Potter!) in the evening, then of course shopping over the weekend!
This board imagines a casual, intimate Thanksgiving wedding. I love how the usually elegant black, brown, and gold color palette is instead warm and inviting. The chalkboard menu above a harvest buffet is the perfect focal point for the room, and I can see a reception with wood tables and crisp white runners, bouquets hand-tied with black satin ribbon, and of course, pumpkin pie to accompany the cake!

Clockwise from top left: black and white shift dress via Beach House Bride; white cake with black bows via Perfect Bound; chalkboard menu from Sweet as a Peach; brown berry napkin rings from CountryHome (craft tutorial included!); black Louboutins from Kristina’s wedding, image by Michele M Waite; brown and gold bedroom designed by Tom Scheerer, via Domicile Interior Design and {this is glamorous}; black and gold entryway from Elle Decor via Pretty Little Things; gold and cocoa Luella invitation from White Aisle; book from Megan W Photography; dahlia on frame from Simply Smashing

If I didn’t have to ask family and friends to give up their own holiday plans I would have a Thanksgiving wedding, but I think it is a lot to ask of people that they allow my wedding to dictate such an important weekend for so many.
