Real Weddings: Meaghan + Steve

Hi everyone!  Welcome back from the holiday weekend – I hope you had a lovely one!  I’m excited to start off the week with a beautiful wedding at Savannah’s Roundhouse Railroad Museum from Jade McCully.  The bride, Meaghan, put so much personality into this wedding – I just adore it and know you will too!

Meaghan was friends with Steve’s mother long before she and Steve met.  Meaghan and Steve’s parents were going on a vacation together, and Steve decided to join in.  He naturally assumed Meaghan was his mother’s age, but when he met her he was quite surprised and they instantly fell in love!

Meaghan loves going to a fair in her hometown of Greenup, Illinois.  She was able to collect chairs from the fair to bring to Savannah from the ceremony, so everyone sat on a little piece of her home.

The reception featured lots of family photos strung around the venue, as well as some of Meaghan’s favorite books (she is a writer) for guests to peruse.  Steve is a musician, so obviously the band was of utmost importance, and they brought in the wonderful Larkin Poe to perform at the ceremony and reception.

The following Savannah wedding vendors contributed to Meaghan and Steve’s wedding:

Photography – Jade McCully Photography
Venue – Roundhouse Railroad Museum
Coordination – Laura McKinnon and Alyssa Courturier-Herndon
Floral – Garden on the Square
Catering – Starland Catering
Desserts – Lulu’s Chocolate Bar and Leopold’s Ice Cream
Musicians – Larkin Poe
Shoes – Chebran

  1. Hello–

So glad you liked my wedding — I know I enjoyed it. Just a sidenote, those books were brought by the guests, then donated to the local library. It wouldn’t have been my wedding if books weren’t involved!
.-= Meaghan’s most recent blog post: INTERVIEW- With Ben Greenman =-.

  2. I think this venue is one of the coolest ones I have ever seen! This is the 2nd wedding feature I’ve seen there in the past week–and it just has so much history and intrigue. I wonder how many “Steam Punk” weddings they get there! :)

  3. i love the venue of their wedding. it was just simple but its lovely. no other decorations since the wedding was held outdoor. the pictures hanging all over the reception was cool. thanks for sharing another wonderful wedding.

  4. Thank you all for the wonderful comments about our venue! I am the Director of Sales for the Roundhouse Railroad Museum, and truly appreciate all of the kind words I’ve read.

Meaghan + Steve were so great to work with and their wedding design was so creative. Their happiness definitely affected everyone in attendance.

By the way, to answer Kristin’s question, our first officially titled “steam punk” wedding is in May 2011 :)

  5. This venue is so cool, so unique. I had the pleasure of doing a non wedding kind of photoshoot at a railway museum a few months ago and it was one of the coolest venues to shoot at. Would love to shoot a wedding with this kind of setting.
