As we close out what has been another amazing year, I have asked some of the most talented and wonderful photographers on the planet to share one of their favorite weddings from 2010. To kick it off, I have a wedding that is not only one of Jasmine Star’s favorites, but one of my own as well – the wedding of Bianca, Jasmine’s twin sister. Jasmine had the honor of being both the maid of honor and photographer, and as always, did an amazing job capturing the emotion and details of the day, all of which was made more special by the close connection she and Bianca share.

Bianca is a radiant bride, stunning in her Pronovias gown and grandmother’s jewelry.

Succulents accented everything! The theme of the day was “Love Succulently”. Bianca says:
“My full name means white flower, which represents love. Matt is reminiscent of a succulent: layered, intricate, understated, and enduring. The theme was a natural manifestation of who we are. To accent our day, we had eclectic vintage pieces throughout the ceremony and reception representing timeless love and enduring faith. Mixed with modern decor elements, the event played off the design elements of our ceremony and reception location.”

The ceremony was held at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, which has an amazing cuvee cave on site, a vintage portico, and bountiful vineyard rows. The mix of vintage and modern elements, rented from Found Vintage Rentals, created an eclectic feel that came together beautifully. The intimate ceremony was officiated by Bianca’s father and Matt’s best friend.

{how gorgeous are Jasmine and Bianca?}

The reception at Root 246 featured positively stunning decor! Heavenly Blooms worked to bring Bianca’s “Love Succulently” vision to life. Vintage candlesticks, antique vases, and unique containers meshed with succulents, gardenias, burgundy penoies, and dahlias to create a completely gorgeous reception, full of intricate details.

From beginning to end, the event’s theme showcased the venue and theme of the day. Bianca and Matt created invitations by varnishing small wooden boxes and using them as mini wine bottle containers. The wine label doubled as an invitation complete with their wedding logo, website, and image of the vineyard. At the reception, a riddling rack for wine bottles was transformed into an escort card display.

Jasmine, thank you for sharing a wedding so close to your heart with EAD!

These colors and textures are beautiful together…not to mention how fantastic the photos are! I saw the first photo and thought, “Oh my gosh, is this Jasmine Star’s wedding?”…what a gorgeous pair of gals! The bride’s bouquet is stunning!
Im getting married in September and absolutely love these pictures. Our colors are eggplant and sage and we are using succulents in our bouquets, centerpieces and cake. I have looked ALL OVER the internet for those little mini boxes that the miniature wine bottle favors are in. Do you have any idea where we can get those?
