Real Weddings: Lauren + William

I’m not sure it gets more southern-pretty than this Pinehurst, North Carolina wedding. Cheerwine, bow ties, and fluffy flowers give these photos by Rachel Barker of Millie Holloman Photography a big ol’ dose of southern. When the couple started planning they kept three key words in mind: romantic, pretty, and classic, the exact words I would choose to describe their wedding. I love the pale pink and yellow color palette the bride chose and these flower girls and their pomanders are too cute for words!!

Lauren’s shared a little bit about her priorities, and some advice for future brides and grooms!

We knew right away our priorities: great food, great drinks, great band, and plenty of time to enjoy each part (cocktails, dinner, dancing). We didn’t want to feel rushed or look back and say it was a “blur”.

Your wedding day is no time to try to be somebody else or try to put on an event that is not authentic. Be decisive, know what you like and trust your instincts. The few things I hemmed and hawed over, I ultimately ended up going with my first instinct. The best thing I did was hire extremely talented vendors, told them my vision (sticking to my own sense of style) and trusted them to make it happen.

There were terrible tornadoes in the state on our wedding day, it poured all day long. I quickly took my groom’s advice to let it go and enjoy every minute of the evening. It was a perfect evening. Hands down the best wedding I’ve ever been to, but then again, I’m a bit biased!
