Looking for your dream dress but don’t want to dedicate a huge portion of your budget to bringing home “the one”?  Your wedding budget is all about give-and-take, and I love the fact that there is an awesome resource like to help you find the perfect gown at a fraction of the price. has over 7,500 dresses by more than 200 different designers listed for sale.

I had a lot of fun browsing their website and searching through all of the fabulous gowns (gown shopping, whether virtual or in person, is my favorite wedding activity!).  There are some gorgeous gowns from one of my favorite designers, Monique Lhullier, and even my very favorite Vera Wang.

In addition to searching by designer, you can search by size, price, location, and silhouette.  I’m an hourglass, and one of my best matches was this beautiful belted dress from Priscilla of Boston:

Browse for inspiration with their Dresses We Love, Most Viewed, Best Deals or New Listings of the Week pages. Read the used wedding dresses FAQ to get informed before buying.  And if you are looking to sell your wedding dress, you can do that on too.  I hope I’ve inspired you to have a look, and would love to hear your experience buying or selling your gown!

  1. Love the idea of pre-owned wedding dresses! Found my dress in a consignment shop. Turned out it wasn’t pre-owned, but it was vintage by 3 years! It was simple and gorgeous and as soon as I was home from my honeymoon I had it dry cleaned and gave it to the consignment shop to re-sell.

I just bought my dress from and I LOVE it! It has been worn once by a wonderful and super friendly bride. We emailed back and forth many, many times before I commited to buying it (SO hard to do without trying on first!), but it fit surprisingly well! I will need a few alterations, but I highly recommend going with a used dress! It cost me $350 and it is a beautiful lace replica of a Jim Hjelm dress (probably made in China, but at least I wasn’t the one with the headache of buying a dress from overseas!)
