Brooklyn Warehouse Wedding

There simply isn’t one single thing we don’t adore about Jen and Jesse’s modern Brooklyn wedding. Rather than a formal dinner, the couple chose to enjoy a progressive cocktail party with their guests, a perfect mix of formality and casualness. Liberty Warehouse set the perfect scene with its industrial aesthetic. The organic greenery from Violet and Verde highlighted the brick, wood, and metal throughout the venue. As if their locale couldn’t get more breathtaking, Jen’s father created a wooden altar from scratch that, paired with Violet and Verde‘s floral, made an exquisite and personal ceremony backdrop. Jen is a vision in her Blush by Hayley Paige dress from The White Gown and the bridesmaids’ dresses add just the right pop of color. Even their choice of wedding date is perfection–they were married on Loving Day, the anniversary of the overturning of the criminalization of interracial marriage in the US. We know that you’ll join with us in falling head over heels for every sweet moment as captured by Kat Harris Photography!

Modern Brooklyn Wedding

From the bride: Our wedding was fun, relaxed, and filled with so much love and excitement! We were so lucky to be able to have the wedding we wanted, with a perfect mix of formality and casualness. Our officiants (our close friends) wrote the sweetest and funniest ceremony to celebrate our love for each other and our families, we had a progressive cocktail party (instead of formal dinner) which our venue executed without a hitch, and our band rocked the house all night starting with our first dance to Prince’s “Kiss.” Brooklyn and NYC was where I was born and raised, where Jesse spent many of his formative years, and where we made our home, and we wanted to show our guests what our beautiful borough had to offer. Liberty Warehouse was the perfect venue to to show off Brooklyn’s industrial charm, and have a great view of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan. We also got married on Loving Day, the anniversary of the overturning of the criminalization of interracial marriage in the U.S., and it was so meaningful to have that day be part of our story.

I remember all the laughter and smiles throughout the ceremony, all the dancing and arms in the air during the reception, and the speech our moms’ wrote together, which was so sweet, touching, and funny. Our moms live on opposite coasts, and communicated over the phone and email to coordinate their speech to us. It was so touching.
