A Brooklyn Oasis: The William Vale

If you follow my Instagram and Insta stories, you’ll know that I recently returned from Bridal Fashion Week in NYC and had the opportunity to spend two fantastic nights at The William Vale in Brooklyn’s most fantastic neighborhood, Williamsburg. When I lived in New York, Williamsburg was always one of my favorite local destinations, so I was incredibly excited to spend some time enjoying the area (wow, how it’s grown!) and relaxing at what I had heard was a spectacular new hotel. And friends, I was absolutely not disappointed. The William Vale has both an undeniable “it factor” and an atmosphere comfy enough that my 37 year-old, decidedly un-hipster self felt right at home. From the moment you step foot on property, the first thing you notice that the building is really a work of art. The architecture is interesting and stands out while blending into the surrounding area, and art installations are everywhere – right down to the elevators! The next thing on your mind is–of course–the rooms, and let me just pause here to say, the rooms at The William Vale are not your normal NYC hotel rooms. They are light, airy, high-tech (chargers for all phone types built into the bedside!), and each room features a private balcony with a simply unbelievable view.

When I checked in, I was welcomed by the most delicious box of Du’s Donuts (which is located conveniently in the hotel), and my room had a Keurig machine to take care of my morning coffee fix, too. Of course, Williamsburg is a coffee-lover’s dream, so that pick-me-up (the K-cups were from a local roaster, naturally) was just the start of my caffeine for the day. This was a working vacation, so I totally appreciated the comfy lounge chair and side table in the room, and the balcony seating so I could enjoy the unseasonably warm October NYC weather with a view. The enormous walk-in shower was heavenly, and I slept like a baby on Frette sheets.

The team behind The William Vale worked to create a “backyard for the Williamsburg community” and it really shows. From the longest outdoor pool in NYC to Vale Park, a 15,000 square foot elevated green space, the entire property feels like a landscaped oasis. The hotel’s equal parts retro and relaxed vibe fits perfectly into the neighborhood too. Oh, and mega bonus points for being super convenient to the L train, a quick cab ride from LaGuardia and Manhattan, and easy walking from all of Williamsburg’s best restaurants and shops. It truly was the perfect home base for exploring New York, and I know next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely be coming back to The William Vale.
