Prospect Park Boathouse Wedding

Isobel and Geoffrey met on their very first night of college and were married on their seven year anniversary. With Isobel having always dreamed of a New York City wedding, the couple selected Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Boat House for its architecture, history, and location. A classic color palette of pinks and natural greens was accented by black Jenny Yoo bridesmaids dresses and Isobel’s sleek and stylish Reem Acra gown. The reception glimmered with candlelight and crisp white tables were decorated with long garlands of greenery and roses from Surrounding Flowers. The love between these two shines through in the cinema captured by NST Pictures and the beautiful images from Tracey Krick Photography!

How did you meet?
We met the first day of orientation at Muhlenberg College through mutual friends. After two weeks, we started dating and have been together ever since. After college Isobel returned to school to follow her passion in nursing. We moved to Rochester, NY where she attended the University of Rochester School of Nursing and now works in the neonatal intensive care unit. We decided to get married on our seven year anniversary 09/09.

What is your proposal story?
Geoff proposed in August 2015. Isobel was nearly done with nursing school and decided to go home for a weekend to visit her parents in NYC. Family has always been very important to Isobel so Geoff seized the opportunity to include them in his plans. Geoff told Isobel that they were going to explore DUMBO and maybe end at the River Café for a drink so we needed to be dressed nicely. Geoff proposed under the Brooklyn Bridge. Her family was hidden and recorded the whole thing. They then went to dinner at the River Café with her parents and brother.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Get a day-of-planner! We used Amy from Modern Rebel and it was the best money we ever spent. She was so kind, calm, and organized. She was on top of everything and we were really able to just enjoy the day. I will recommend her to everyone getting married!
