Colorful Floral Tabletop
Nothing makes me happier than beautiful flowers, so naturally, I adore this rich, colorful tabletop from Seattle-based florist McKenzie Powell Designs. McKenzie found the fabric for the tablecloth at an estate sale and built the table around it, with fresh white china and taper candles set against cheery pops of yellow, pink and coral. The lush centerpiece of garden roses, …

Inspiration: How to create manzanita centerpieces
It took me quite sometime to figure out exactly what kind of centerpieces I wanted. I knew three things: they needed to be cost-effective, I couldn’t do flowers because my floral budget was so low, and I still wanted them to be classy and elegant. My first instinct was to do all candles. It was a nighttime wedding, and I …

After our first look, I took a quick walk-through of the tent, looked around, and just stood in awe. Everything I had planned for was set-up. I pointed to one of the tables and said “Oh, wow! That looks so nice!” and my cousin turned to me and said “Well, you should like it! You picked everything out!” Good point …

Meeting with a (the?) florist
Mr.’s mom and I met with our first florist. It went pretty well I guess, although she didn’t really talk pricing a whole lot and that’s what I was hoping to get out of it. She had us sit down and look through all these books that looked like they were from the late 90′s to bookmark what we liked …
