Real Weddings: Lori + Jonathan
Welcome to the EAD Weddings blog! We are so excited to have you here. If you are a new visitor, we'd love for you to subscribe to our RSS feed and visit our sister site, EAD Living. Thanks for visiting and we hope you come back soon!
Everything about Lori and Jonathan’s wedding is pretty much perfect. We have puppies with handmade ribbon collars and leashes, the most beautiful DIY flowers, a light and fun color palette of yellow and gray, and an Austin, TX wedding venue that is so unique and different. And on top of that, Heather from Eclectic Images outdid herself with spectacular photography, capturing every little detail and special moment!
Lori’s gals were decked out in gray bridesmaids dresses by J Crew and wore yellow shoes of their choosing and yellow flowers in their hair.
Not to be outdone, Jonathan and his groomsmen are dapper in their Chuck Taylors and the couple’s three pups sported yellow ribbon collars and leashes. Aren’t they precious?!

Real Weddings: Kristen + Matt
Every now and then I come across a wedding that is not only drop-dead gorgeous, but it’s so creative it warms my soul. That’s Kristen and Matt’s wedding. Kristen, an art director for a cosmetics company, created the entire event herself from start to finish, and the result, photographed by the talented and sweet Daisy Varley, was absolute perfection.
Kristen chose a Mexican fiesta theme for the wedding, full of bright colors, family traditions, paper flowers, and fabulous details!
Bridesmaids were asked to choose a Mexican peasant dress and hem it to their liking.
The wedding was held at Condor’s Nest Ranch in Pala, CA. Guests were able to stay on the grounds, so signs pointed the way to the wedding and the camping!

Real Weddings: Crista + Bill
I have been so busy with wedding season that I have fallen behind a bit on sharing lovely weddings with all the fabulous EAD readers. But I am so happy to be able to share a truly stunning and inspirational wedding from Labor Day weekend with all of you.
Crista and Bill were married at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) here in Chicago. I was so excited about this wedding, as it was one of the last before a wonderful exhibit by Olaffur Eliasson was taken down (if he ever exhibits in your city, please go!). This was my favourite exhibit I’ve seen in a long while, and I couldn’t wait to shoot in such a colourful and inspiring environment.
Bill and Crista are both creatives, and Crista did a beautiful job pulling together a gorgeous event that felt relaxed and artistic. It was also an incredibly emotional day, with Crista and her sister crying throughout the day–it was really lovely and sweet, and I was so happy to be able to share in the day along with my second photographer, Frank. Also, a big thanks to the amazing team at Kehoe Designs for designing the stunning florals that perfectly played off the rainbow of colours in the exhibit, while not being overkill. Really wonderful job; highly recommend them for very creative and unique displays and bouquets (we were all swooning over the succulents)!
Opening a present from Bill…

Real Weddings: Jennifer + Travis
Travis and Jennifer’s wedding was full of fabulous details and was made even more wonderful by the amazing photos from Katie Stoops of Open Air Photography.
Cowboy boots for the bride + a fluffy sunflower bouquet = perfection.
The Marriott Ranch was the perfect venue for the couple’s casual farm wedding. It’s nestled in tiny Hume, VA (about an hours drive from Washington DC) at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Le sigh - look how beautiful it is!

Welcome Fall
We’re welcoming fall this week, and with it, gorgeous orange, brown, and yellow wedding inspiration.

Real Weddings: Anne + Thomas
So excited today to be featuring the wedding of one of our loyal readers, Anne, and Thomas! Their gorgeous Sarasota, FL wedding was photographed by Brian and Briana of Divine Light Weddings.
Anne’s Nicole Miller gown was just perfection. I’m a huge fan of champagne colored gowns and it’s just stunning against her skin tone.

Vintage Treasures
The photo of old-fashioned clocks inspired this board - full of clutter, trinkets, and vintage treasures.

Clockwise from top left: vintage-inspired clocks from Sköna Hem via Pillow Talk and Sarah’s Fab Day, end table with trinkets from House Beautiful via Absolutely Beautiful Things, vintage glass bottles in rack from Tongue in Cheek via The Paris Apartment, birdcage necklace from Sea Unicorn’s etsy via A Room Somewhere, passport-inspired wedding invitations designed by Chris Rooney via Oh So Beautiful Paper, birdcage and tablescape display by Kråkvik & D’Orazio via Desire to Inspire, photo of bust in window by Katie Lockhart via Oh So Beautiful Paper, green and white bouquet photographed by Eleise Theuer from Stewart and Darryl’s wedding, woman in vintage green gown via the (sadly, now defunct) Nibs blog, room with bookcase and mirror from Displaying Pictures via Style Court
Can’t you just see lots of lace and calligraphy with wire bits and bobs, fluffy cream flowers, mismatched plates, and heavy crystal glassware? Le sigh.

Real Weddings: Joanne + Dan
I’m just in love with every single thing about Joanne and Dan’s Detroit wedding, especially the photos from the fabulous Jessica Johnston. The ceremony and reception were held at the Max M. Fisher Music Center at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Blossoms did an unbelievable job with all of the floral - this bouquet is just to die for!

My best friend’s wedding
Something big happened during my wedding week…something bigger than a rehearsal dinner, bigger than a bachelorette spa day, bigger than getting my favorite peonies for the bouquets…
my best friend and bridesmaid Lisa got engaged!
Now, not only did she get engaged…she also managed to hide it from me for roughly 20 hours until I realized something was up and dragged it out of her. Just goes to show what a great friend she is–she didn’t want to distract from the wedding at hand. I’m SO glad she ended up telling me, though…it made my week that much more special and I’ve never been happier!
Lisa’s favorite color is yellow, just like her bright, sunny, cheerful, sweet personality…so I thought I’d create an inspiration board for her wedding that fits right in with her bubbly-ness!

{Clockwise from top left: Salt and Pepper shakers from MissGaylee’s Etsy shop; invitations from Tulaloo’s Etsy Shop; flowers from Martha Stewart Weddings; dress by J.Crew; car photo from National Geographic; boutonniere, Our Labor of Love Photography via OnceWed; shoes, The Studio Nouveau photography via Lucky Me!; dress, Anthropologie; bouquet from Martha Stewart Weddings; cupcakes from Our Labor of Love Photography via OnceWed}
Yellow is such a fun, upbeat color, especially for such amazing and laid-back folks as Lisa and her now-fiance Eric.
I can totally see them using lots of Billy Buttons, the groomsmen in seersucker suits, Lisa in beautiful yellow flats, and the lovely couple driving away in a classic yellow car!
Lisa, if you’re reading this…you’d better let me help you plan your wedding! ;)
Much love,
-B

Inspired!
I ran across this great post on The Nichols blog and I was instantly inspired!

Now that we have decided to have the wedding at our family cottage, this post was exactly what I needed to see in order to get my mind in wedding cottage mode!

Real Weddings: Michelle + Dennis
I love today’s real wedding from a photographer new to EAD, Jeffrey Neal of JNP Studios! Michelle and Dennis are so vibrant and photogenic and their yellow and pink color scheme really popped with the Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells as a backdrop.
Michelle is a radiant bride:
I’m over the moon for her bouquet (and all of the florals really!) created by Suzan M Florals.

Floral Inspiration
It’s no secret that I love daisies; I always have, and I always will. (Just check out the centerpieces from my bridal shower.) I love their bright colors and simplicity, and that they represent loyalty and love. How appropriate for our summer wedding! Fortunately Nick likes them, too, and fortunately I have a lovely bridesmaid who volunteered to make our bouquets, boutonnières, and arrangements with the flowers I adore oh so much. Her generosity is helping to keep us within budget, and it’s just so special that the bouquet I will carry will be crafted with such love.
We plan to include Gerbera daisies in reds, oranges, whites, and golds with green filler. We may also incorporate dahlias (the flower of August, a.k.a. our wedding month) of the same colors.
Here are our necessary bouquets and boutonnières: 1 bride, 6 bridesmaids, 1 groom, 7 groomsmen, 1 ring bearer, 2 fathers, and 1 grandfather. What about the mothers and grandmothers, you may ask? Well, I know corsages or wristlets are the traditional choice, but does anyone have a unique idea for the special ladies in our lives?
Here’s some of our inspiration:
