DIY: Beaded Table Numbers
A lucky visit to my favorite store in New York, Tinsel Trading, provided a simple solution to one of my wedding-day decor dilemmas. These adorable beaded letters are sold there for $10/each - and even if 18 tables x $10 had seemed reasonable, I still would have made my own set. Luckily for me, Tinsel Trading only offers these as letters, not numbers so I headed to my trusty local bead-emporium and got myself to work.

DIY Project: Prohibition-Era Cocktail Recipe Book
These favors from last weekend’s party provided a wonderful keepsake for all the guest to remember the night. To try this project for your next party, just follow this simple how-to for yourself; feel free to place recipe cards, fun facts about the guest of honor or family photos in the pockets. This project is great because it can easily be personalized to meet any theme or event!

The Party Recap
Last Saturday was quite a night to remember for my sister-in-law, aka Miss Cupcake from WeddingBee. Myself, her maid and matron of honor, along with my amazing mother-in-law and another bridesmaid had been scheming for months to create a twist on the traditional bridal shower!

The Beginning
I’m just thrilled to be here as the guest blogger on Elizabeth Anne Designs and hope you will all enjoy some of the stories, projects and features I plan to share throughout my time here. I first started a blog in January 2006 and took a hiatus from posting right around the time I became engaged, to plan my own wedding in the Summer of 2007.
Inspired Goodness began in April 2008, coinciding with the launch of my event design company and has since become a place to learn D.I.Y. touches, discover inspiring resources and provide extraordinary ideas to help brides create the wedding of their dreams.
For my first post this week, I wanted to start at the beginning and share with you the story of how I met my husband and share the story of our engagement.

An Interactive Event
For our final day, we’re focusing on the interactive. People love anything that makes them feel like a kid again and guests will stay longer if they have something to do. Keep your friends and family entertained with activities like miniature golf, a silhouette artist or a couple of professional ballroom dancers a la Dancing with the Stars.

Ditching the Norm
My favorite thing I ever hear from a bride is “this might sound crazy, but…” because I know whatever follows that statement is something I’m going to love. Be creative when gathering inspiration for your wedding design. The inspiration board below was created from a snapshot of a zebra that one of our clients adored. The mood, colors and sophistication are captured in all of the ideas for the day. Remember, you are the only one who gets to dictate the inspiration for your day.

Is your wedding or color palette a little off of the norm? Please share!

Unique Favors
Long gone are the days of little foil-wrapped chocolates in a mesh bag as favors for your guests. Your favors should be as unique as you and your honey. Do you spend the weekends golfing together, or maybe you met in business school? Here are a few ways to personalize sweet treats or ideas for gifts your guests will use and appreciate.

More Than Just a Drink
Hello, Bliss again! Almost every bride we talk with wants to have alcohol served at their wedding. As we know, this is a large part of the final expense, so why not make it memorable? Try some of these fun ideas to make your drink more than just a drink. Personally, I’m a fan of the margarita popsicles…yes please!
