First, a big blog hug to Tying the Knot for giving our color week a shoutout!

Now, onto business.  We have to say, blue stationery is gorgeous!  And it works in either a dark-on-light or light-on-dark presentation.  For an uber-formal event, try pure white on navy and for a lighter affair a letterpressed blue works on almost any light color!

Sorry the post is so late! It’s been a crazy day today.

Search for blue cakes, and you have a plethora of choices. Search for blue foods? Not so much! You’re left with potatoes, blueberries, blue corn chips and bleu cheese. Not a great selection. But! We’ve found some fantastic choices for cakes and a few extras.

I may have cheated by including a slightly purple combo, but I love the design! So simple and fresh.

It’s all in the deets, the details that is! First, this color is AMAZING, even in small doses. It’s my mom’s favorite color, and I think of her often when I see this color in design.

You can see here, the light touches of blue in the paper and ribbon, but set against the brilliance of the sky, it pops!

Such pretty blooms to be found for our blue color week! 

Blue can be the perfect color for floral in a rustic setting, as seen in this series by Artfool.  I adore the pairing of the blue, cream, and pink in the vintage silver pitcher.

In our second color week, we are featuring blue.  As I said before, we are concentrating on blue tones only, not gorgeous blue-greens such as aqua and turquoise, or blue-reds such as royal blue or periwinkle.  I’m sure there will be more on those other amazing colors in a future color week!

Anne and I decided to surprise you with another color week!  We were so inspired by last week’s orange and marigold that we just wanted to keep on going with it.  Two color weeks in a row is pretty ambitious, but we feel confident in our abilities!  This week we’ll be bringing you a post each day on blue - not teal, aqua, or turquoise, but just good, old-fashioned blue.
