Dana’s Moroccan Wedding
Dana emailed us asking for help for her wedding being held at a fabulous restaurant in LA. Her only specifications were “no green” and lots of strong jewel toned colors. Happy to help Dana!
Here is Dana’s gorgeous venue, The Bungalow Club:
And the inspiration board I created based off of the fantastic colors in the space:

I love the idea of this wedding. It’s so different from what E and I normally gravitate towards (rustic, vintage). Dana is off to a good start!

Whitney’s Rustic NC Wedding
Whitney was kind enough to enter our EAD inspiration contest awhile back, and even though she didn’t win, we thought we’d pull together an inspiration board for her rustic fall North Carolina mountain wedding in hues of orange, brown, and aqua.
Clockwise from top left: The Wiebners, Artfool, Darling Dexter blog, the Knot, Darling Dexter blog, B&B finder, Tiffany Aicklen Photography, Brides via Faye and Greer, Darling Dexter blog, the Bride’s Cafe, Toast via Peonies and Polaroids
Three of the pictures are actually from Whitney’s blog! The gorgeous dresses are handmade (wow), that is actually her Save the Date (gocco’ed by the way, it’s fabulous - you should check out her Etsy shop for more gocco’ed goodness), and those are her shoes!
Whitney, I love what you’ve put together so far and I hope this inspires you!

Jessica Lynn’s September Wedding
One of our favorite bloggers, Jessica Lynn from Tying the Knot is in need of some inspiration for her plum, raspberry, and gold wedding in Indianapolis late this summer. Here is her RSVP card as an example of the gorgeous look she’s going for:
So with this palette in mind, and knowing that Jessica was uncertain about adding in the gold, we decided to put together an inspiration board for her focusing on how she can incorporate the gold into her palette.

Jess’s Garden Wedding
Reader Jess is having a September wedding in Indiana. She says:
Our wedding colors are pink, green and ivory. Our location is the Indiana State Museum for the ceremony and reception with the ceremony being outside along our man-made canal in Indianapolis. The state museum is very modern and clean design lines. I want it to be a bit more “garden-y” though and struggling for ideas!
Pink and green is such a pretty palette but it can go in so many different directions, so I really wanted to emphasize the softness of each color in this board. I think my favorite piece is the invitation. So classic and simple.

Clockwise from top left: Wildflowers by Lori, Of the Earth via Masterpiece Weddings, Elizabeth Messina via The Bride’s Cafe, Stoneblossom Floral, Pearls Events, the Knot, Ariella Chezar, Sugarplum Invitations
Jess I hope this helps in your planning and gives you some ideas for making your wedding garden-y.

Susan’s NC Wedding
Susan wrote to ask our advice on using silver in a fall wedding. She says,
I am having a wedding at a historic inn in North Carolina in November and I’m struggling with my color palette. I know I want standard fall colors (deep reds and oranges) and I thought I was set there. The room has stairs covered in red rug around the down into the main area of the room with black and white big checkered tiles. My centerpieces are going to be in family pieces of silver (teapots, vases, water pitchers etc) and I am struggling to pull together inspiration pics that include these fall colors with silver and not gold. I’m also thinking of adding some green accents in the centerpieces but want to avoid any Christmas-y feeling. Basically I need help honing in on something specific! I believe I’m going for “easy fall classic elegance.”
Our answer? Absolutely use the silver! E and I love fall weddings with a little twist, and the silver adds that. Personally, I would warm it up with a little caramel and vanilla tones. Use all the color you can stand for depth and warmth. I would avoid green as much as possible.

Susan, I hope this helps! If you are a very visual person, go to your local florist and buy blooms in the colors you’d like to use. Arrange them in a vase on your desk and stare at them for a bit. You’ll learn what you love through practice. Plus, you get flowers out of the deal!

Elizabeth’s NC Wedding
Elizabeth, an EAD reader, wrote us asking for advice for her October wedding. She says…
I am having a wedding in Asheville NC at a farm–ceremony out in the meadow, cocktails and dancing in historic barn, and seated formal dinner in tent. I am looking for an elegant wedding juxtaposed with the rusticity and organic feeling of the farm setting (e.g., we are hanging chandeliers and draped fabric in the old tobacco barn for a cocktail lounge). My letterpress invitations are ivory with pewter lettering and my dress is an ivory Reem Acra. I would like to add some color to the grey/ivory combination and am thinking a sage color. Can I do gold accents with that (e.g. gold chiavari chairs at dinner) or am I better off going with silver? Any more general ideas for the look/feel I am going for in my wedding?

I do love the sage/ivory/pewter with a hint of gold combination. The colors are both outdoor and elegant, and sage is a really hot color right now. However, because the wedding is outside you might have too much green. What do you think about light blue? Or a mauve? Stay tuned for more of this today….

Lynn’s November Wedding
Lynn is planning a gorgeous event! She says:
Our primary color is chocolate, with touches of ivory, green, pink and possibly pale yellows! The location is a 1920s historic building on the lake, the ceremony will be held outside on the lake. Our wedding date is November 1, 2008!
Based on what I’ve seen on her fantastic blog, here’s what I put together for her! It’s a little rustic, a little vintage, and a LOT classic and feminine.

Top row: Seen On dot com, The Green Vase, Sugar Plum Invitations
Middle row: Ariella Chezar, Elizabeth Messina via the Bride’s Cafe, Artfool
Bottom row: Knottie djrs, the Knot, {frolic!}
I hope I didn’t throw too much yellow into it for her. :) I love the combination of colors that she’s chosen for a lake wedding. Lynn, you’ll have to let us know how it all comes together!
