Real Weddings: Reggie + Megan 3.8.08 Part II

We have more fabulousness from Reggie and Megan’s Atlanta wedding, courtesy of Almasy Photography.  Love love love these portraits.  Especially both of their faces in the one on the left.

As I mentioned before, their reception was held at the Foundry at Puritan Mill.  Reggie just happens to play for the NFL, so the event was coordinated by his managers at Profiles Sports.  With that combination, you know it’s going to be stunning.

Real Weddings: Reggie + Megan 3.8.08 Part I

When I saw the images that Anne Almasy sent over from the gorgeous wedding of Reggie and Megan, I literally squealed.  It’s absolutely perfect.  They were married in Atlanta; their ceremony took place in Piedmont Park and the reception (which you’ll see later today!) was held at the beautiful Foundry at Puritan Mill

Check out this bride and groom.  The picture of Reggie is now officially my favorite-wedding-picture-ever.  His face is priceless.  And for good reason - look at the knockout he’s about to marry!

Baseball E-Pics

I. AM. IN. LOVE.  With the Atlanta Braves.  And with Altmix Photography and their engagement session with Amy and Chad at (you guessed it) a Braves game.  Swoon.

What’s more summer than Atlanta and baseball?  This shot is great - it was taken at the top of the park where you can see both the skyline and the game.

Timwill Photography

A few months ago, through Jenna at That Bride, I found the blog of the fabulous Tim Willoughby at Timwill Photography.  And I’ve been absolutely blown away by his images ever since.

Friday, he posted what is quite probably the most gorgeous bridal session that I have ever seen and he was kind enough to let me share it with all of you!  The bride is Kathryn and the shoot took place in Atlanta.

Altmix Photography

Today we’re lucky to be featuring the fantastic Kate of Altmix Photography! Kate and her husband Matt are new to the wedding world and to Atlanta, but as you can see by their fantastic photos – they truly have talent! I love the use of light and shade in Bonnie and David’s engagement session, shot in Highlands, NC.

We recently had the chance to sit down (and by sit down, I naturally mean chat over email) with Kate and hear what she had to say, from a professional photographer’s perspective, about lots of topics!

And the Winners Are…

I just signed and faxed out three big contracts and wanted to share with all of you!

  • Floral: I am so pleased to have chosen Little Sparrow Floral.  Thanks to Our Labor of Love for their recommendation!  The moment that clinched it was when I told her I was looking for a specific shade of blush - not pink, not brown, and not cream, but a mixture.  And she brought me a Sahara rose in the absolute perfect shade.  At that point, I knew I was in love.  Anyone that understands color that well is going to be a friend during this process.
  • Catering: I cannot say enough about how professional and wonderful both caterers that were in the running are.  Dennis Dean has impeccable presentation and very reasonable pricing.  Bold American = simply amazing quality and a great attention to detail.  It truly was a tough decision but in the end we decided to go with Bold American.  They are affiliated with the Fifth Group Restaurants company, therefore making my next decision relatively easy….
  • Brunch: South City Kitchen.  Love love love the space.  And it’s within easy walking distance of the hotels we will be booking and of my venue.  Plus, it works with the decor that I have planned.  :)

Atlanta vendors have all been amazing to work with.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I have the cream of the crop planners working with me in Eventologie.  Kim and Julie are fantastic.  I absolutely don’t know how I would plan a long-distance wedding without a planner.  Knowing the city and the vendors is priceless.

I’m so excited to have chosen these vendors - the planning process is really coming together nicely.  Only a little over 10 months to go now!

The To-Do List

Some big checkmarks are about to come down the pipe.  This weekend I head to Atlanta for meetings with my event planner.  We are heading to prospective caterers, decor houses, and day after brunch spots.

I’m very excited to see the South City Kitchen in Midtown.  The best thing?  It’s within walking distance of my venue.  The brunch menu looks amazing!

755 Club, Turner Field

Very excited today to announce that I have booked the venue for my Welcome Party — the 755 Club in Turner Field!

We are doing a welcome party rather than a traditional rehearsal dinner due to the small size of my event and the fact that we have no local guests.  And we are both Atlanta Braves fans from birth so it was only natural that we have a part of the vow renewal incorporating one of our favorite things.

I am so happy (and glad to have another thing off of my to-do list) and I have SO many ideas brewing already!  Any good baseball decor inspiration for me?

E.

PS - I’m also very close to choosing a photographer… but I’m not spilling who yet!  It’s a surprise.

Barnsley Gardens

I simply adore this space just outside of Atlanta for a destination affair!  Barnsley Gardens Resort is an excellent option for those that want a true all-in-one experience. Not only do they have gorgeous gardens and Civil War ruins but also an excellent hotel, spa, golf courses, and amazing dining!

An English Garden

Natalie from the I Heart Peonies blog (I really love her blog by the way, you should be reading it) posted relatively recently about how she hearts English countryside weddings.  When I saw her post it reminded me of a photographer based in Atlanta that I had been researching, Thomas Fahey

His magazine work is exquisite and he has a spread on the English countryside theme on his Southeastern Weddings website that I thought I’d share here.  Here are a few of the images, all courtesy of Thomas Fahey:

This spread just makes me smile with wonder.  The last picture is exactly the feel I want from my own vow renewal!
