Ultimate Photo Booth

It’s already so hard to resist photo booths, but add in antique details, vintage LPs, and fabulous accessories like these from Love, Lulu Mae? Sign me up! This team behind this Inspired Creations Contest put together the Ultimate Photo Booth. Guests use props like vintage hats, mustaches on a stick, sequined and feathered headbands to create photos, buttons, and even videos to post on friends’ facebook walls! Certainly, this is not your ordinary photo booth. It’s super interactive and has so many different options to play with. Doesn’t it look like so much fun?

My favorite photo from the booth? Mad props to this guy who donned blue sequins and peacock feathers.

Warm and Homey Engagement Shoot

When I look at the photos from Marie and Victor’s engagement shoot, I can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy. The couple has such a sweet warmth about them and the styling by Vicki from My Simple Details (who also happens to be Victor’s sister!) reflects that feeling. Victor is an avid sportsman and hunter and Marie is very family-oriented so the shoot was styled with antique decoys for him and some cozy yarn for her. One of my favorite details is of course the beautiful florals by Petals and Hedges – I love those blooms in the pitcher. Such a sweet and cozy engagement shoot set on the beautiful grounds of Lamontagne at Bluemont with photos by Vicki Grafton Photography!

Vintage Chic Engagement Session

Laine and Marty’s Victoria, BC engagement session was styled by one of their close friends, Jessica from Petite Pearl Events, and it’s just the perfect mix of sweet, chic, and vintage! These two lovebirds are marrying next summer in Italy, so what better to do than to create an engagement session filled with some of their hometown Victoria charm? The Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse was the gorgeous backdrop for the rustic fall shoot. I simply adore the lush florals in shades of coral, peach, and pink from Verbena Floral Design, the lovely lace table runner, and of course, Laine’s amazing dupioni dress from Alida’s Gowns. Seasons Engagement Shoot

Although we don’t feature a ton of engagement shoots, this one was way too cute not to share! Tauren and Chris’ shoot was designed to show the seasons of their relationship and to ask their loved ones to join them in the next season of their lives. How sweet is that? They sipped lattes outside for the fall, snuggled up for a snowy Christmas inside, shared a colorful spring picnic, and ran around on the beach for summer. Such a cute idea with beautiful photos from Bethany Belle!

I am so excited to welcome Little Bat Photography as the newest member of the Vendor Guide! Jillian West is a San Francisco-based photographer, and I’m utterly in love with her dreamy photojournalistic style. Jillian is a woman after my own heart – she has lived in New Jersey, Santa Barbara, London, Australia, and now San Francisco, and I think this eclectic view of the world truly translates into her work – each image is its own piece of art, bringing the moment to life. Little Bat Photography is perfect for the couple who wants to have their day captured as it happens with candid, emotional images. Whether it’s a hug between long-lost friends, the joy of a first look between bride and groom, or a special ceremony just for the two of you, Jillian captures the moment while you are lost in your world of happiness as a new married couple.

I asked Jillian to describe herself in a few sentences, and here is what she says:

“When I get inspired, I never want to stop. I read books back to back and indulge in secret special worlds that don’t exist through children’s fiction and art. I can’t walk past the Mac counter or nail polish displays without staring at every color and how they play off each other. I listen to records on Sundays on my living room floor. I have a tad of an obsession with vintage hats and dresses. I consider my family photos my most prized possessions. I can’t get enough of Hitchcock or the Addams Family or Twin Peaks. I want to fill my life with travel and creativity, love and friendship, and ultimately, to always have time to make things.”

Shabby Chic Vintage Bridal Portraits

Shannon’s bridal portrait session from Christina Carroll Photography is full of shabby chic amazingness. It was taken at The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell, a super cute bed and breakfast between Austin and Houston that is a perfect mix of rustic and romantic. I’m absolutely in love with Shannon’s gown, originally by Allure Couture and then deconstructed/reconstructed by the bride herself! And how beyond gorgeous is Shannon? Beautiful, shabby chic bridal portraits with fabulous antique details. Enjoy!

Vegetable Farm Engagement Shoot

This sweet engagement session is just the perfect way to kick off the week! Lindsay and Brock chose the Castle House and Garden in Bonny Doon, California as the setting for their portraits – it was featured in a documentary “The Botany Of Desire” so photographer Claire Barrett gave the shoot a horticultural theme with seedlings, fresh vegetables, and garden plots. The curious animals are just too cute!

Fourth of July Engagement Shoot

Just in time for the 4th of July, we have an classic and adorable summer engagement shoot from Love Life Studios and styled by The Stylish Soiree. I love all the patriotic details from the tablescape to the bride’s oversized sunglasses to the mini red, white, and blue pinwheels. Check out the flowers too, don’t the blue thistle kinda look like fireworks? This laid-back shoot absolutely gets me in the mood for a big slice of peach pie and an ice cold soda. Happy 4th of July everyone!

Lace and Ribbon Bridal Portraits

For this really sweet bridal session, not only were different shades of ribbon (I love ribbon!) used to create a super pretty backdrop, but they mixed in some beautifully delicate lace as well! I love the idea of using natural twigs and branches as ribbon wands. A very sweet bridal shoot by Ampersand Photography and a really fun DIY idea!
