Real Weddings: Morgan + Ross

Ross and Morgan’s story is one of unconditional love, determination and hope. You see, two years ago, Morgan was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Through all of the surgeries, hospital stays, and test results, Ross has been steadfastly by her side. Ross is a strong man, a man that said he wasn’t going anywhere before, during, or after cancer. A man that started his vows by saying, “If I knew your love would mean this much to me, I would have asked you to be my wife when we were just kids.” Besides the fact that I am completely in love with their Charlotte wedding at The Ballantyne Hotel (purple, be still my heart!), I am also amazed and inspired by Morgan’s strength and heart, and the love that these two have for each other. Thanks Tara Mauldin Photography for sharing their story with us!

The Friday after Morgan and Ross returned from their honeymoon to Greece, Morgan collapsed in their apartment. She was rushed to the hospital with cardiac arrest, due to blood clots in her lungs. She proceeded to undergo open heart surgery. Today she has good and bad days. But through it all, she understands that there is a definitive purpose for her life. The one thing that has remained steadfast is Morgan’s positive attitude and enduring strength. Morgan’s smile is infectious, and her encouraging attitude is something that will truly inspire you.

Morgan, although I do not know you, your courage, beauty and strength amaze me. I can speak for the entire EAD community when I say we are sending you all of our love and good wishes. Oh, and PS – you are one GORGEOUS woman, inside and out!

Real Weddings: Joanna + Michael

Joanna and Michael were married in a private 1940′s home in Washington. I’m in love with all the clean, elegant, and natural elements that Steven Moore Designs pulled together to create such a stunning event. He used all-white florals in clear containers which displayed their green stems but mostly I love how he gave the table more dimension by running pieces of whitewashed wood down the center of each instead of using a fabric table runner! Genius. What a gorgeous wedding with fabulous photos by Michele M Waite!

Real Weddings: Tory + Alex

While planning their destination wedding, Tory and Alex were graduating college and in the process of relocating… talk about a lot going on! The couple chose Newport, Rhode Island as their wedding destination because as a young girl Tory, who is from Boston, would visit Newport with her parents and always imagined herself married there, by the ocean. Enlisting the help of Stephanie Frazier-Grimm of Couture Parties, they planned a whirlwind weekend of activities including a wine and beer tasting, bridal luncheon, welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and a post-wedding brunch! The wedding at Belle Mer was all about organic chic – calla lilies, birch, and a gorgeous gray and white color palette to complement the elegant ballroom. I love the simple elegance of the event and all of the beautiful images from Armor & Martel!

Their sweet trailer from Armor & Martel is full of behind the scenes clips and memories from the day – you can just see the love and joy throughout!

Real Weddings: Ariel + Eric

The folding of paper cranes is said to bring luck but also is said to be representative of the time and patience it takes to sustain a happy marriage. The most prominent design element for Ariel and Eric’s New York wedding was hundreds of paper cranes hung and placed throughout their beautiful venue, Gary’s Loft in Manhattan. It was a modern and hip wedding with lots of natural light and fresh details. I love Ariel’s perfect party shoes – some fabulous, sparkly, Steve Madden oxfords! Such a fabulous party with fabulous photos by Justine Bursoni Photography!

Real Weddings: Diana + Nick

Diana and Nick’s Florida wedding is modern elegance meets beach chic. The ceremony and reception were both held outdoors at the Watersound Beach Club, decorated with black and white striped panels as well as other black and white chairs and linens. Nouveau Flowers created several different arrangements in shades of green, ivory, and the softest shade of blush for the event. I’m so ridiculously in love with Diana’s stunning copper Vera Wang gown! It’s absolute perfection with her fabulous red hair. Such an amazing, modern wedding with equally gorgeous photos by Paul Johnson Photography.

Real Weddings: Melissa + Jason

Melissa and Jason were married at the Luxe Hotel in Bel Air. It was a modern and sophisticated event designed by JL Designs full of fresh elements like succulents, quartz vessels, white and green florals, and chevrons. Melissa’s gorgeous bouquet was a mix of white florals like peonies and orchids as well as succulents. The ballroom of the hotel was draped in white fabric and tables were decorated with incredibly sleek arrangements of lush white florals as well as succulents and viburnum in textured white and quartz vessels. I’m so in love with absolutely everything about this wedding and all the gorgeous photos by Meg Perotti – it is easy to see why this wedding was one of Meg’s favorites of the year!

Real Weddings: Lexie + Erik

When Lexie and Erik were planning their Southern California wedding, they knew they wanted “a big WOW factor.” What they actually got on their big day was not just a wedding with “wow” but a breathtakingly glamorous and intimate celebration that they shared with their closest friends and family. Enchanted Florist created stunning, perfectly over-the-top arrangements cascading with a variety of white flowers for their glamorous reception at Pelican Hill. Lexie absolutely rocked her Ines DiSanto gown (the word “fierce” comes to mind) and white Louboutins. And finally, my laptop would certainly not be covered in drool without the incredible photos by Gavin Wade Photographers!

Real Weddings: Jessica + Zach

Jessica and Zach both have an incredible eye for design and their modern North Carolina wedding was a reflection of each of their tastes and talents. While Jessica styled all the decor including the beautiful centerpieces and bouquet, her husband-to-be, Zach, designed all the stationery for the event. The ceremony was held at Jessica’s mother’s 1930′s bungalow in historic Hillsborough, NC where friends and family enjoyed a catered lunch with the couple afterwards. The new husband and wife then took off for an amazingly hip costume change (I love EVERYTHING about the couples’ outfits), headed to an entirely separate sit-down dinner at ACME Restaurant, and then danced the night away across the street at DSI Comedy Theater. These gorgeous photos by Graham Terhune tell a story of a truly amazing and intimate celebration!

Real Weddings: Marguerite + Nicholas

Marguerite and Nicholas had a quintessential Chicago wedding at the landmark Drake Hotel! Their ceremony was held at the stunning St. Clement Church, the same place where both Maggie’s parents and grandparents were married. Phillip’s Flowers did a beautiful job blending classic and modern, mixing glittery floating candles with elegant white blooms such as ranunculus, orchids, hydrangea, roses, and calla lilies. Olivia Leigh did a fantastic job capturing this beautiful couple, their amazing venue and all the gorgeous details!

Modern and chic, Batrease and Randy’s Texas wedding had a cool, organic feel to it. I adore the orchids and succulents used throughout the event by Red Sole Events. And their killer venue The Cotton Mill? Those big doors and the beautiful brick are total eye candy for me!
