Real Weddings: Amy + Steve

Cozy, soft, and romantic, Amy and Steve’s Chicago wedding is the perfect mix of vintage and modern. Hilary from Estera Events dubbed the wedding style “Granny Chic” and I’m in love! With the clean, modern feel of Room 1520 as the backdrop, the tables were dressed with romantic arrangements of garden roses and hydrangea in milk glass vases from Fleur, custom textured linens, elegant vintage china from Plate, and table names of quirky, vintage playing cards. Who wouldn’t want to be seated at Mischievous Monkey or Silly Goose? Playing off of Amy’s personality, the couple selected the name “Sassy Squirrel” for their intimate sweetheart table. This wedding has so much personality, so sit back and enjoy the beautiful images from I Luv Photo!

Real Weddings: Sam + Wade

Married at the antebellum plantation The Cedars outside of Huntsville, Alabama, Sam and Wade’s wedding was sweet, Southern, and full of personality. Pretty vintage neutrals mixed with pops of fun colors throughout their day – the bridesmaids in soft beige while the bride rocked pink heels and the guys in tan suits with bright red ties – so fun! I love all the colorful wildflower bud vases by Limestone Bay Trading Co. that lined their tables as well as the beautiful quilted table runners. Sam and Wade are just too stinkin’ cute and the photos by Simply Bloom are simply wonderful – it’s easy to see why this was one of their favorite weddings of 2011!

Real Weddings: Brittany + Nick

If a wedding is a reflection on a couple’s personality, Brittany and Nick seem like some of the coolest people around. There are so many things to love about their wedding! You gotta love the bridesmaids’ floral print dresses and just tell me you don’t envy the incredibly lush florals by the one-and-only Fleur. Their venue, Architectural Artifacts, was one part museum, one part antique store, one part wedding venue, and Heather of Greatest Expectations worked with Fleur to create a reception that was pure vintage inspired eye candy! Real Weddings: Jordyn + Joey

Jordyn and Joey’s wedding is just straight up fabulous. It took place in gorgeous Santa Monica at the Marion Davies Guest House of Annenberg Community Beach House which Jordyn described as “old-school Hollywood glam meets laid-back beachy Santa Monica.” She is absolutely stunning in her (rented!) Pronovias gown as are her bridesmaids in their fabulous Adrianna Papell dresses. I’m in love with the beautiful dahlia and hydrangea-filled florals by Jardin Floral Design who worked to incorporate the design of the couple’s Wedding Paper Divas invitations throughout the entire event. Real Weddings: Lesley + Matthew

Lesley and Matthew’s wedding was a blend of old world vintage and romantic with a beautiful and fresh color palette of apricot, gray and french blue. Their ceremony took place on the Tiffany-inspired staircase of Chicago’s Newberry Library, the bridal party lining each side of the staircase as guests looked on. The beautiful florals by the always breathtaking Fleur included some of my absolute favorites: ranunculus, dahlias, and juliet roses, with touches of pale blue hydrangea. I love how the framed table numbers and damask linens add texture to the table without distracting from the incredible flowers. A stunning wedding flawlessly pulled together by Greatest Expectations with gorgeous photos by Jennifer Kathryn Photography!

Lesley shared some sweet words about their wedding day:

“It was like I was dreaming, the whole night. Between the peach in the flowers, the glow of the candlelight, and being surrounded with love from family and friends, I felt like I was in heaven. The first time I heard the notes from violinists playing “the wind” by Cat Stevens echoing up the staircase where I was waiting with my dad and my best friends for the ceremony to begin – it was all so beautiful and perfect and I was about to marry my best friend, the man of my dreams. Let’s just say I lost it. I’ve never been happier in my life.”

Real Weddings: Bridgette + Jason

Today’s super sweet wedding, held at The Magnolia Manor just east of Knoxville, Tennessee, was a mix of shabby chic, rustic, and vintage. Textural florals done by the venue mixed roses, hydrangea, and alstromeria with loads of cascading eucalyptus. Bridgette, Jason, and their guests were hit with a surprise rain shower in the middle of their ceremony that (although I’m sure it was no fun at the time) gave Dixie Pixel some super cute photos ops! My favorite detail of the day was Bridgette’s beautiful lace dress which incorporated lace from her mom’s dress as well as vintage jewelry from her great, great aunt. So sweet, and such a sweet day!

Real Weddings: Emily + Steve

Emily and Steve’s love story began when they were 10 years old, when Emily proclaimed to her mother that Steve was “the cutest boy I had ever seen”. Ten years later, they became a couple, and 7 years after that they decided they just couldn’t live without each other. Having summered in Nantucket with their families as children, and now as a couple who call the island home, there was never a question where they would marry. Emily is the owner of the lovely Nantucket shop Milly & Grace. Using items from her store and gorgeous floral created by Dawn Kelly of Soiree Floral, she created a romantic, shabby-chic wedding full of vintage china and glassware and elegant teal, peach and green blooms. I’m utterly in love with the images by Zofia Photography and every little detail of this colorful, elegant soirée!

Real Weddings: Tiffany + Jimmy

Tiffany and Jimmy wanted a low-key, classic wedding. They decided on a vintage theme and incorporated lots of antique details such as lace, baby’s breath, and antique bottles to the decor of their rustic venue, The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek. My favorite vintage detail is Tiffany’s lace tea-length dress, and I just adore the powder blue VW bug getaway car! What an adorable weddingmobile! Thanks to Rebekah J. Real Weddings: Kerri + Nute

It sounds like a movie to me: two strangers meet randomly while traveling, fall in love, and have a beautiful wedding complete with military dress blues and a sword arch. Ok, so my pitch may not make it to the big movie studios, but Lyndsay Undseth Photography’s gorgeous photos of Kerri and Nute’s wedding would paint a beautiful picture of their story to the producers! The couple worked with Kate Miller Events to create an elegant, vintage, and DIY wedding with details reflecting the city of Chicago (the city where they randomly met) and Nute’s military career. Real Weddings: Meaghan + Kerry

Meaghan faced something that many brides face during wedding planning. Blogs, magazines, and everything else in this world about weddings, sometimes there can be too much inspiration. She had focused so much on creating an uber-hip and happening event until one day she remembered it was all about her husband-to-be, friends, and family. Certainly a good reminder for all of us!
