Real Weddings: Amy + Steve

Cozy, soft, and romantic, Amy and Steve’s Chicago wedding is the perfect mix of vintage and modern. Hilary from Estera Events dubbed the wedding style “Granny Chic” and I’m in love! With the clean, modern feel of Room 1520 as the backdrop, the tables were dressed with romantic arrangements of garden roses and hydrangea in milk glass vases from Fleur, custom textured linens, elegant vintage china from Plate, and table names of quirky, vintage playing cards. Who wouldn’t want to be seated at Mischievous Monkey or Silly Goose? Playing off of Amy’s personality, the couple selected the name “Sassy Squirrel” for their intimate sweetheart table. This wedding has so much personality, so sit back and enjoy the beautiful images from I Luv Photo!

Real Weddings: Ariel + Eric

The folding of paper cranes is said to bring luck but also is said to be representative of the time and patience it takes to sustain a happy marriage. The most prominent design element for Ariel and Eric’s New York wedding was hundreds of paper cranes hung and placed throughout their beautiful venue, Gary’s Loft in Manhattan. It was a modern and hip wedding with lots of natural light and fresh details. I love Ariel’s perfect party shoes – some fabulous, sparkly, Steve Madden oxfords! Real Weddings: Brittany + Nick

If a wedding is a reflection on a couple’s personality, Brittany and Nick seem like some of the coolest people around. There are so many things to love about their wedding! You gotta love the bridesmaids’ floral print dresses and just tell me you don’t envy the incredibly lush florals by the one-and-only Fleur. Their venue, Architectural Artifacts, was one part museum, one part antique store, one part wedding venue, and Heather of Greatest Expectations worked with Fleur to create a reception that was pure vintage inspired eye candy! Real Weddings: Kim + Brian

There are so many things that I love about Kim & Brian’s wedding: the gorgeous setting, the cozy log cabin venue, their adorable dog, Kim’s safflower bouquet…oh and I could go on! Friends and family met Kim and Brian for their wedding at The HideOut in Kirkwood, California. Although I adore all of the details from their big day, my favorite are the hundred or so handmade paper flowers that hung above the couple during their ceremony. These amazing photos by Julia Wade include some of my all-time favorite portraits and capture an incredible day!

Real Weddings: Lauren + Ian

Lauren and Ian’s wedding was spread out over 3 days at Ian’s beautiful family home in Grove City, Pennsylvania. They wanted their wedding to feel like a backyard party, something very handmade and festive, and created a stunning overhead display in their reception tent with hundreds of colorful tissue poms. I’m in love with the bouquet and boutonniere by The Tinker’s Dam! The flowers are so pretty and stand out on their own without competing with the colors of the rest of the event. Real Weddings: Chelsea + Maz

I am completely over-the-moon in love with Maz and Chelsea’s Sun Valley summer wedding. They are just the coolest couple (check out Maz in his gingham bow tie!), and their wedding was full of personality, color, and fun. A whimsical paper flower altar set the stage for the day, they were blessed with picture-perfect Idaho weather for their outdoor ceremony and Moroccan-inspired lounge area, and Sue Bridgman created beautiful mason jar centerpieces with dahlias and mums in all shades of pink and purple. Hillary Maybery did an amazing job capturing the celebration – congrats Chelsea and Maz!

Real Weddings: Lisa + Jason

Lisa and Jason are so lucky to have incredibly talented friends who all took part in putting together the couple’s big day. Held at Sova Gardens in Sebastopol, California, the entire event was filled with tons of colorful, fun details (pinwheels and fans at the ceremony!) Vintage Seaside Wedding

This is one of my uber-favorite weddings that I have ever featured on EAD! I posted it way back in 2008, but I just had to pull it out of the archives for aqua week. Lyndsey is the owner of Bellingham, WA antique store Penny Lane Antiques, and she filled her aqua and red wedding with all sorts of vintage, kitschy goodness! The tent at Semiahmoo Resort was transformed into a whimsical wonderland with the help of Steven Moore Designs – complete with seashells, fish centerpieces, vintage curiosities, and a fabulous red chandelier. One of my favorite photographers, Michele Waite, captured the all of the lovely images and Michelle Engvall flawlessly coordinated the event.

The sweet little fish were borrowed from the pond of a friend and returned to their home at the end of the night.

Real Weddings: Jessica + Michael

The moment that we decided to do a color week of aqua, my mind immediately went to this fabulous Nashville wedding that I had seen on Style Me Pretty a few months back, held at the lovely Cedarwood. Jessica, the bride, did an amazing job working with Cedarwood to craft an event full of personality, with a whimsical bird theme and a vibrant color palette of aqua, teal, pink, yellow and green. Jessica collected antique birdcages for the centerpieces and painted them in shades of aqua and teal and found precious aqua birds at a local antique store to use as decor. Real Weddings: Crystal + Brian

Crystal and Brian married in an intimate Atlanta garden wedding. Their venue, The Pace House, is precious and I love all of the sweet and whimsical florals and Crystal’s fabulous shoes! Crystal collected several birdcages to use as decor, and with the help of Ashley Baber brought her “Anthropologie meets the South” theme to life!
