The Invitations are out!
We may have a bit of a curse that surrounds us.
The restaurant where we met 2 years ago – gone out of business
The restaurant where we had our first official date – gone out of business
The bar we had our engagement party at – burned down (that one really hurt me and my social life)
I have told Jeremy that …

DIY Inspiration: Save the Dates
Save the Dates are a perfect opportunity to express your wedding’s style and theme but sometimes also a perfect opportunity to blow a lot of your wedding budget before you even get to the big stuff. To help keep the budget on track, I’ve gathered some of my personal favorite save the date downloads and templates below. …

Inspired by Letters
Planning a wedding has opened me up to so many new things in so many different areas. While I expected to learn about wedding etiquette, dress styles and fabrics, invitation wording…you know, the stereotypical wedding stuff, what surprises me the most is how much I learned about graphic design and print. Well, maybe not learned, but was exposed to…I still …

Where oh where are you my little invitations?
For budgeting purposes and for the sake of my sanity we decided to do a website “invitation” for everyone and have them RSVP via email. Well, that idea was vetoed.
In a last minute scramble I scoured the internet for invitations that were us, matched our wedding style and didn’t cost loads of money.
I was so happy to find these invitations …

The Little Details
Understatement of the year: I feel like I spent a lot of time planning this wedding. But the end result? A day filled not only with people that we love but details that I loved as well!
We are still waiting for our official photos from Punam Bean, but in the meantime I’ll share with you some of the projects we …

The Invitations: Part 2
I realized that I never even got to show you our Chinese invitations! They were definitely a challenge, but I am pretty pleased with how they came out!
The boy’s parents are not fluent in English, and many of our guests speak Cantonese, so we had the invitation translated (you can see it above.) I do not know Chinese, …

Invitation Preview
Our invitations are officially out and RSVPs have already started coming in! My mom, bridesmaid Julie, and I created the whole thing by ourselves so it was definitely a labor of love. Here’s a look at the final package!
Note to other brides: if designing and printing invitations yourself, do NOT print the RSVP cards first. When it was taking longer …

DIY Wedding Details: Colorful Programs
I’m not sure why, but I adore wedding programs. Perhaps it’s because I’m a paper lover at heart, or maybe because you guys get SO creative with them? I spotted these DIY tri-fold programs from Harrison and Elizabeth’s wedding on La Belle Bride and thought they were too pretty not to share. I love the rich colors and …

Alchemy at the Barn
So excited to share a gorgeous Inspired Creations Contest concept from Kristy Rice of Momental Designs. Kristy created a gorgeous tabletop that’s rustic and kind of quirky all at the same time. Love!
Kristy envisioned the couple who would love this concept as avant garde and atypical. She says:
“An outdoor ceremony and dinner at dusk celebrating the recent union of two …

National Stationery Show
I had the BEST time this week visiting the National Stationery Show! It’s a little bit of paper heaven on earth, seriously. Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper has done several recaps of the week (each one featuring a ton of gorgeous stationery, so you should definitely check them out). Cyd from The Sweetest Occasion will also be doing a …

The Invitations: Part 1
For the longest time I told myself that we would not have letterpress invitations, even though I love letterpress printing. I once had a fleeting dream to go back to school for book arts, but then decided I couldn’t stomach the tuition for art school. I chose library school instead. Books are still involved, but unfortunately no presses or ink or double-sided tape for me. [Random geeky fact un-related to weddings, did you know there is such a profession as a book arts librarian?]

Our ‘Heartland’ Invites!
When searching for the perfect invites…I We knew we wanted something fun and unique that would also portray the country-rustic feel of our wedding. I searched high and low…aka Etsy and wedding blogs :)
What did we ultimately pick?
The Heartland Invite from Hello Lucky!
The invite is on the left, and the front of the RSVP postcard on the top right, and …
