I have to admit, I’m finally adjusting to this wonderful nip in the air, and it’s getting me so excited for Thanksgiving! We adore going to one of Chicago’s many restaurants to have turkey and pumpkin pie, and seeing a movie (this year it will be Harry Potter!) in the evening, then of course shopping over the weekend!
This board imagines a casual, intimate Thanksgiving wedding. I love how the usually elegant black, brown, and gold color palette is instead warm and inviting. The chalkboard menu above a harvest buffet is the perfect focal point for the room, and I can see a reception with wood tables and crisp white runners, bouquets hand-tied with black satin ribbon, and of course, pumpkin pie to accompany the cake!

Clockwise from top left: black and white shift dress via Beach House Bride; white cake with black bows via Perfect Bound; chalkboard menu from Sweet as a Peach; brown berry napkin rings from CountryHome (craft tutorial included!); black Louboutins from Kristina’s wedding, image by Michele M Waite; brown and gold bedroom designed by Tom Scheerer, via Domicile Interior Design and {this is glamorous}; black and gold entryway from Elle Decor via Pretty Little Things; gold and cocoa Luella invitation from White Aisle; book from Megan W Photography; dahlia on frame from Simply Smashing

After our little trip to Memorial Stadium it was finally time to head out to Country Pines.

Once we got out there I spent a good 10mins just walking around and checking out the amazing job my Aunts did in setting all the decor up. Seriously…everything looked above and beyond what I had envisioned…I’ll show you all the decor/detail goodness in another post…promise!
We had planned to take all our family portraits before the ceremony so that we would have plenty of time to enjoy our cocktail hour post-ceremony. After we finished with those shots we snapped a few more pics with the wedding party.

The guys showing off their awesome socks…

Of course me and my ladies had to get some pics too!

A closer look at our beautiful flowers:

As you can see each of the bridesmaids bouquets were made up of a different flower represented in my bouquet…except for the tulips! Any time that Lance gives me flowers…they are always tulips…so obviously we had to include those in my bouquet! I would have LOVED to have them all over the reception as well…sadly they were not in season….aka not cheap ;)
I really loved how my bouquet turned out! You can’t see it, but wrapped under the burlap was one of my late Grandmother’s hankies! It was trimmed in blue…making it my something old AND my something blue! The guys’ boutonnieres were made up of lavender and green button mums tied with twine.

Pretty sharp huh?
Up next…the guests begin to arrive and we get this show on the road!

Jenny and Jon planned a simple backyard affair with a tree theme, which is repeated in all the little details that make this wedding beautiful, including seedling favors, reception tables named after various types of trees, and luminaries. The stationery was created by the sister of the bride. The venue is the home of the mother of the bride, and the officiant was a close friend of the groom. Making it a true family affair.

My lovely friend Jeannine from FAVOR Events has shared two beautiful farm wedding tables, both full of romantic and rustic details! The privately-owned farm in Georgia is one part rustic, two parts gorgeous and the tablescapes show the personality of the venue in completely different ways. All of the lovely images are courtesy of Ben Vigil Photographers.
The first tablescape is all about elegance and classic Southern tradition – think Southern Living with a little vintage twist! The setting is the farmhouse’s front porch and I am in love with the lavender and china blue color palette against the natural wood chivari chairs.

The second look is a bit more rustic and is set in the farmhouse barn. This tabletop is all about natural elements, earthy colors and approachable decor. Mason jars filled with pinto beans served as candleholders, and I love the scattered pecans!

What I love most about this setting is the bench seating – everyone loves a gorgeous table, but top it off with interesting seating (whether it’s mismatched chairs, elegant chivaris, haybales, or rustic wood benches) and the entire look snaps together!

While I’m on the topic of regrets, I regret not publicizing the photo station enough. There was a sign, and a large fabric backdrop that was visible, but guests later told me that they thought the area was reserved for only close friends and family. Whoops, my bad. (See, that bull horn would have come in handy here too!)

We have really cute friends.
In any case, I love the photos that we did get from the few guests that found the photo station. They give me the warm fuzzies.

I actually don’t know what their message says. You would think that I would have asked one of them by now, but then what would be the fun in that? Can you read it?

It was hard to pick a favorite shot from these two. I’m impressed they stayed in the frame while jumping. And I couldn’t agree more, tennis pretty much sucks with a bad partner!

Awwwww. This huggable man is also a talented illustrator. Need a project? Find him here!

No freakin’ way, we wish we were as cute as you two!

I’m glad we agree, owls DO rock.

My cousin is going to have a super cute wedding too!

My old roomies! Apartment 118 was so much fun, I’m still trying to convince the boy to put purple in our bathroom and add some stuffed animals to the bed.

One of my favorites.

Thanks for reading!
If I had to give advice to someone having a photo station/booth…
1. Make an announcement and have your friends/bridal party remind people that there is a photo station where they can take as many photos as they want.
2. Looking for color in your backdrop? Choose one with a large, vibrant pattern. Ours had polka dots, but they aren’t very visible and I would have liked something more bold that would have popped.
Did you have a photo station? Any tips on how to spread the word or make it a hit?
