    Classic New Orleans Wedding

New Orleans may be our most charming of cities, and Katie and Daniel’s wedding in The Big Easy is full of pure, simple elegance. Held at The Arbor Room at Popp Fountain, their March nuptials were set under clear blue skies fountainside, with a reception in the open, airy atrium. Poppy and Mint created gorgeous lush florals in shades of peach, yellow, pink, and coral. We’re especially in love with Katie’s gorgeous bouquet, its pastel tones a perfect match for her lace Maggie Sottero gown from Love Couture Bridal. Sweet Southern traditions abound, from a quintessential New Orleans Second Line dance to cake pulls in the pretty layered confection from Haydels BakeryMatoli Keely Photography captured the images of the day with her usual magic—we know you will fall head over heels in love!

    Classic Sunstone Winery Wedding

The glowing vineyards of Sunstone Winery created a perfect backdrop for Patricia and Fabien’s classic wedding. After saying their vows in an elegant and intimate ceremony on the rolling hill at sunset, the couple and their guests retreated to the villa for a sophisticated reception featuring stunning florals by Passion Flowers Design. An assortment of beautiful blooms, including dahlias, roses, peonies, lisianthus, and local, organic herbs graced the tables, flanked by pillar candles for a glittering touch. Patricia’s matching hand-tied bouquet was embellished with an elegant wrap of trailing silk ribbon, a perfect complement to her chic Pronovias lace gown. Mike Larson captured the day beautifully, and we adore each timeless detail!

    Chic + Sparkly DC Wedding

The magical garden setting of Washington DC’s Meridian House was the setting for Alex and Rob’s sophisticated spring wedding. The couple set out to combine elegance with fun, so when selecting their color palette, they decided to spice up the traditional neutrals with dashes of gold sparkle. Alex’s bridesmaids were decked out in ivory and gold gowns of their choosing (heavy on the glamour of course!), and their china, floral vessels, and gold stars hanging from the trees added glittering touches to the lush florals created by Rob’s mother and her team, Laura Francis of Floral Presentations. Rob and Alex love to travel and have lived and explored all over the world, so their reception reflected their shared passion. Design Cuisine created stations of Thai, Italian, French, and American food, and guests “traveled” around from one food option to the next. We’re especially in love with Alex’s stunning Carolina Herrera gown and Rob’s dashing Ralph Lauren tuxedo, and each moment in these images from k. thompson photography is picture-perfect!

    Sparkler Wedding Exit

From the bride: My dad escorted me down the aisle and I think he could tell I was a little nervous (terrified of tripping). So he decided to quote Monty Python (our all time favorite movie) right before we started to walk. He whispered to me, “I am feeling better, I think I will go for a walk” in his best (or really worst) British accent. It instantly made me relax and smile. That comfort was only heightened when I saw Rob waiting for me at the end of the aisle I completely forgot all my nervousness and I couldn’t wait to get there and marry him.

Rob’s mom, Laura, is a florist and recommended the Meridian house to us as a possible venue. I am an art history major and always envisioned being married at a museum or historic house. Meridian house accomplished both and created the type of elegant atmosphere we were looking for. It always had the most magical garden space that we could envision hosting our ceremony and then later a special space for our guest to enjoy during the cocktails and reception. It was in fact why our engagement was so quick (only 4 months). My mom decided to call the Meridian House on a whim to check on their availability and they happened to have a cancellation for the May 17th date. If we didn’t take that date we would have had to wait for over a year. Since we had fallen in love with the space and didn’t want to wait a year we decided to just go for it.

I had a limited time frame so I knew that finding a dress might be tricky. Boy was I wrong. I went to Fabulous Frocks first because I knew that I could potentially walk out of the store with my dress that day while other stores would require months for ordering a custom gown etc. The third dress I tried on was the Carolina Herrera Emily Dress. I knew I wanted a dress that was classic but with a twist. This dress combined both of those elements. I had originally envisioned something in blush but when I saw the platinum and gold color blocks on this dress I was in love. Actually, my mother-in-law sent me a picture of the Emily Dress about two years earlier claiming that it was going to be my dress. She was right!

I always thought you needed at least a year to plan a wedding but I think that I would not have liked having that much time to plan and agonize over decisions. You can get things done in that amount of time and not settle. Besides, I wouldn’t have wanted to wait any longer to marry Rob!

    Gossip Girl Wedding Inspiration

Guilty pleasure alert: I absolutely adored Gossip Girl, and especially loved Chuck and Blair, so when this incredible wedding inspiration shoot landed in my inbox, I was utterly gleeful. Though the series is long over, the Upper East Side elite can still inspire as seen in the stunning design by Kaleb Norman James Design. A studded Jenny Packham gown from The Dress Theory evoked the glamour of Blair’s wedding gown, while Chuck’s signature Scotch wasn’t forgotten. Tallant House created a gorgeous pink and white centerpiece cake, flanked by macarons, complementing the Parisian-inspired stationery from Grey & Cake. We are utterly smitten by each and every detail in these images from Kerry Jeanne Photography!
