A Brooklyn Oasis: The William Vale

If you follow my Instagram and Insta stories, you’ll know that I recently returned from Bridal Fashion Week in NYC and had the opportunity to spend two fantastic nights at The William Vale in Brooklyn’s most fantastic neighborhood, Williamsburg. When I lived in New York, Williamsburg was always one of my favorite local destinations, so I was incredibly excited to spend some time enjoying the area (wow, how it’s grown!) and relaxing at what I had heard was a spectacular new hotel. And friends, I was absolutely not disappointed. The William Vale has both an undeniable “it factor” and an atmosphere comfy enough that my 37 year-old, decidedly un-hipster self felt right at home. From the moment you step foot on property, the first thing you notice that the building is really a work of art. The architecture is interesting and stands out while blending into the surrounding area, and art installations are everywhere – right down to the elevators! The next thing on your mind is—of course—the rooms, and let me just pause here to say, the rooms at The William Vale are not your normal NYC hotel rooms. They are light, airy, high-tech (chargers for all phone types built into the bedside!), and each room features a private balcony with a simply unbelievable view.

Colorful + Romantic Villa Wedding in Santa Barbara

Cat and Monte’s Santa Barbara wedding is a complete dreamland of colorful flowers, California sunshine, and undeniable love. Wedding Kate and Coco Rose Design created a stunning, unique ambiance overflowing with lush tropical florals, a palette of bright pinks and sophisticated pastels, and modern touches that evoke a Mediterranean vibe in the beautiful setting of Villa Verano. The couple rented the villa for their guests for five days, and rather than their wedding being a single evening, it instead became an entire gathering, where family and friends enjoyed time together vacationing and celebrating. This approachable, laidback feeling carried through the entire wedding, from the ceremony, officiated by a friend, where guests were given the book “Think About Someone You Love” by Dallas Clayton, to the reception on the terrace set beneath string lights amongst the rolling California hills. Get lost in the beauty of this gorgeous day captured by Anna Delores Photography!

Elegant Wedding at Palmetto Bluff

Kathryn and Mark’s wedding was inspired by roots and wood grain, a metaphor for putting roots down: the strength and malleability of wood and the importance of building something with a strong foundation together. The couple illustrated the theme in creative and meaningful ways, from the wooden invitations by Spilled Ink Press to wooden tables and barnwood planter boxes handmade by the groom’s father and laser-cut place cards for each guest. The wide-plank floors and floor to ceiling windows of The Chapel at Montage Palmetto Bluff needed no decoration, but Kathryn and Mark and Spencer Special Events left not a detail uncovered in the spectacular tented reception. Em Creative Floral created chandeliers dripping with greenery and centerpieces of lush, snowy white blooms provided a gorgeous soft contrast to the wooden and metallic elements featured throughout. Their wedding day is full to the brim with special moments and it is beautifully captured by Jennings King Photography!

Modern + Sophisticated Denver Wedding

April and Michael’s intimate wedding at Denver’s Halcyon Hotel is full of classic and modern touches! The Halcyon is a cozy boutique hotel, and their 68 guests were a perfect fit, ensuring that the couple could celebrate and chat with each of their closest family and friends throughout the evening. April selected a timeless, slim-fitting Nicole Miller gown from BHLDN, accentuating with a veil handmade by A Busy Mother and pretty pink Badgley Mischka shoes. Her bouquet by The Flower House Denver featuring snowy white blooms accentuated with anemones for a pop of black. Centerpieces of textured flowers, succulents, metallic elements, and lots of dreamy candles accentuated the reception ballroom at the Halcyon, with its dramatic dark details. Each detail is pure sophistication, captured beautifully by Tamara Gruner Photography!
