The things that bring me joy in the field of photography are the moments that can’t be repeated. A right of passage or a coming of age event like a Sweet 16. Parents celebrating their child’s 1st, 5th, or 10th birthday. Family members gathered together to celebrate Nana’s 100th birthday. And an elegant, emotion-filled wedding celebrating the love between 2 people and the joining of 2 families.
It’s the in-between moments that thrill me when I’ve successfully captured the moment. The reaction of a mother watching her daughter dawn her wedding dress. The toast a groom has with his best friends as they get ready for the ceremony. My personal favorite is the extra long embrace of a father with his daughter during their dance.
It’s those personal connections we have with our loved ones that resonate with the person either witnessing the moment or reliving it through a photograph. Love is the thread that connects us all and its a feeling we all can recognize quite easily.
So its especially wonderful for me to capture those moments of love. And when family members can relive those precious moments and rekindle their feelings when they view it in a photograph, well…that’s why I do what I do.
Thank you for reading and I hope I can capture those fleeting moments on your special day.
