I grew up in California. I have always lived in California. It is a big, beautiful place, and I feel so blessed to be living in the midst of it. I’m so inspired by the forest, coast, streams, and fields that this place has to offer as my home. Also – seeing the world outside of California has opened my eyes in a big way! I shoot in different states and countries throughout the year and have learned so much from traveling. But we’ll get to that in a minute.
I’m married to a pretty awesome guy. He’s my second shooter for weddings, so you’ll probably get to meet him – but he’s much more than that. We’ve been together since 2004, married since 2010. Our relationship has been the most amazing journey. Sam holds me up when I’m weak, he loves the Lord fiercely; he is kind, generous, funny, forgiving, and encouraging. I’m so inspired by and undeserving of this great man!
Our life together is pretty rad. It’s not really normal at all and I love it. On the weekends, we’re shooting weddings. During the week, he works (at our church), I photograph families, and edit photos. We also spend time cuddling our kitty, hiking, or just watching TV. A few times throughout the year, we travel to different countries to do non-profit photography.
Traveling has taught me a lot. How to be flexible, how to photograph discreetly, and how to embrace culture. Various travels and experiences in different places have culminated into a journalistic photographic style, meshed with guided poses and any ideas the client (that’s you) has along the way! (Don’t worry, if you don’t have a clue, I will guide you through it!)
While photographing, I am inspired by the existing light, environment, and your beautiful face! Each photo session is different depending on personalities, styles, and location, and I love that. The biggest gift since I started photographing in 2008 has been the people we’ve met along the way. And I hope that can be you!
