There's something about a corsage or wristlet corsage that just reminds me of bad prom dresses. I think our grandmothers will appreciate corsages still, but I think our moms are a little bit hipper and would appreciate something a little different.

Are there any other appropriate alternatives to giving corsages to the moms?

I tried out those organza flowers that were featured on the blog recently, via Reese Dixon, and I think they turned out lovely!

They were really fun to make and really easy. I spent a little over 2 hours making all of these, start to finish. I plan to sew pins on the back so they can be worn as a bout or pinned to a ribbon as a wrist corsage.

Yay! My first real DIY project!

Here are my only concerns with that scenario given that you are on a tight budget:

1. The dollar is weak to the Euro at the moment. Last time I checked, US$1= 1.25 E, so in said scenario, a whole fifth of your budget could potentially get eaten up in exchange rates.

2. Customs fees. You'd have to research rates in your budget range, but you'll probably end up paying import fees, which takes out more money from your dress allowance.

If you look at both of these points and still think you are okay with these, then go for it! With the tight budget, though, I figured I should probably bring those up so you can plan or it and get your money's worth
