A wedding jewelry designer who is a gem!!!
I found Mari & her online store on Etsy back in October 2008. Not only has Mari designed custom pieces for me the bride to be, but she also made the gifts I am giving my bridesmaids! Mari is one of the best vendors I have dealt with during my wedding planning! She is creative and really wants to make you happy!
I decided to work with Bel Canto because I was looking for some gifts for my bridesmaids and pieces for me that were original. I wanted something high end and different than what everyone else had. Because I am getting married in Italy I wanted to find something that was very romantic, lush, old world and stylish…and that is exactly what Bel Canto Designs offers.
They have been one of the only vendors I have worked with who really take the time to ask me questions about what I want. Mari was happy to listen to my ideas and understand my inspirations for the pieces I wanted.
Mari’s pieces look great on her website, but are 1000 times better in person! Since reaching out to Mari for pieces for my wedding I have purchased 3 additional pieces for gifts for friends for their birthdays! Her pieces and customer service are outstanding! When you are getting married all you want is for your vendors to listen to your ideas and give you good feedback, great customer service and quality products - this is exactly what Mari and Bel Canto do!!
I am so happy to have ordered my wedding jewelry from Bel Canto- because dealing with Mari has been so positive and fun, unlike some of the other vendors I have dealt with. When you are getting married, you spend so much time, energy and money trying to make things perfect for your day, that when you do find someone who enjoys planning a part or piece of your wedding as much as you do, you can’t help but like dealing with them and want to tell everyone how great they are!!!

Although I did not buy a dress from Mon Amie (just not in the budget) I can not say enough about the helpful staff and beautiful dress selections. I attended the first day of the Jim Helm trunk show and was able to try on so many of the dresses. Not only to they give 10% off for purchasing a trunk show dress, they also offer a 10% of coupon from their site for going in on a regular day, and at that particular show (not sure if they do this all the time) they were offering a free $400 Ralph Lauren suit with the purchase of the dress! After my appointment, the girl who helped me sent a hand written note. I would highly recommend Mon Amie to any bride looking for an upscale dress shopping experience!

My original intention was to find a ring design I liked and have a family friend design it for us. I knew that I wasn’t interested in any of the designs featured in the standard retail jeweler shops I had looked into, and so I began searching for an antique style that would work for me. Sylvia’s was one of the first online sites that I came across and I bookmarked a ring I thought was pretty. 5 months later it was time to get serious about making a purchase, and I just kept coming back to the same picture. The price was phenomenal, and it was a style I had never seen before. It felt like a huge risk because I wouldn’t be able to try it on in person, and the size listed was at least 3 sizes smaller than I wear. The quality of the diamond was also listed as very very low, and so I was worried that it might just be trick photography that was making the ring look so beautiful. I sent the link over to my boyfriend to let him know this is what I was interested in and he let me know that he would be happy with whatever made me happy.
We verified that the 14 day return policy would apply for our purchase, and he went ahead and purchased it. It was very exciting to open up the package and discover a beautiful ring waiting inside. We took it to another jeweler where we are living currently, and were a little shocked to hear that the ring we had purchased was not in fact made of white gold, but platinum.
A few things to consider before making your purchase: I am very happy with my purchase, but I will point out that the ring we purchased is still listed on the website. The ring I received seemed to be used, as it was in a pretty beat up and unpolished condition, and either the company does not update their stock very often, or they are selling “new” rings and pretending they are old. I am not sure what the reasoning behind this could be, but I am still happy with my ring and will definitely keep it, no matter when it was made.
The other thing you should consider is that the ring we bought was listed as white gold, and is actually made of platinum. We did not get this tested until after the 14 day period was over, and it actually works in our favor, but I would definitely take any item in for a full appraisal before the 14 day trial period is up so that you can verify your item is really what it was listed as.
I love my ring and am very happy with my purchase. If a purchase is going to be made through Sylvia’s, I would definitely go through the work of verifying the purchase.
