Inspired by the table setting we created from Artfool’s wonderful work….
The finished product will be 4 6×6 tiles that can be used as part of your table setting.
Materials needed:
- 4 12×12 sheets of decorative paper
- 1 12×12 cork tile (preferably tight cork)
- X-Acto Knife
- Scissors
- Marker
- Ruler
- Spray Adhesive
- Mod Podge (glossy)
- Sponge brush
Step One: Gather all your supplies and paper in one spot.
Step Two: Mark two lines at 6″ from each edge, dividing the tile into four squares.
Step Three: Cut the cork tile into four pieces on the marked lines.
Step Four: Spray the tiles with adhesive and adhere to the decorative paper. Trim the edges off of each square. Let sit with weight on it overnight to set glue.
Step Five: Gloss each tile with three coats of Mod Podge. Let each coat dry about ten minutes in between.
Step Six: Enjoy your finished project!
The tiles are the perfect match for our bottle collection.
Tips:
- The more coats of Mod Podge you use, the more water resistant the paper will become.
- Make sure to use one sheet of paper per tile. I made the mistake of cutting before adhering. The paper didn’t quite match up on the edges. Trimming after the tile is glued to the paper will prevent this!
- Use a very tightly compacted cork tile. I used a looser pack and the tile started shredding as I cut it.
- If this is a temporary addition to a table, you could use a very thick foam board.
Create your own tiles and upload pictures to our new Flickr group dedicated to EAD Living Projects.
Enjoy!

Love this idea!
Could this work on ceramic white gloss tiles?

I think it could, if you used the proper adhesive.
