Decor: Festive Table Settings

Feisty’s post on Thanksgiving decor made me ponder what I could add to our family setting at Thanksgiving.  My husband and I both have huge families and do not host dinners at our house, so anything elaborate would not work for transport.  A simple object at each table would work.

I was especially drawn to these place settings because of their focus on nature.  Excluding Matthew Mead’s paper ornament in the lower right, all of these include a natural element.

Once Wed and Lobster and Swan blew all of their readers away with the table setting they created last week.  I was especially drawn to the sprig of rosemary dressed up with buttons and ribbon.  This would be extremely easy to duplicate as we have plenty of rosemary at our house.

Evergreen Memories offers little pine seedlings as wedding favors.  This would work perfectly for an Alabama table.  Pine trees are the bane of our existence here in Alabama.  Every other tree is pine, the sap drips on your car and driveway, and it is always the first tree to go when building.  A friend’s husband (not from Alabama) recently commented on how beautiful pine trees were, and we laughed.  It definitely falls under “too much of a good thing.”  However, we have plenty of little pine tree seedlings near our house and could easily replicate this idea with a little thank you note.

Martha Stewart had many beautiful options it was hard to narrow it down!

The gumball setting made me think of my childhood in South Carolina.  So charming and cute!

The standard place setting with a pressed leaf as an accessory would be great for those tables that aren’t a complete free for all (at our table, you have to shout to be heard).

Stamped or embroidered linens with a simple leaf would be beautiful in their simplicity.  Maybe E should try this?

And finally, Matthew Mead with his adorable paper ornaments.  Meant for Christmas, you could easily adapt these for Thanksgiving.

To see what we came up with for our table, come back tomorrow!

we heart your comments!

These place settings are great! They look like they were possibly even painted on. Thanks for the fun ideas for this season!
