Editor’s Note: We have a new columnist here at EAD! You might recognize Rachel from all of her lovely posts over at EAD Weddings. We’re so excited to have her on board for our Tuesday column!
I just wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone out there!! My name is Rachel, and for the better part of last year I was a weekly guest blogger on the EAD Weddings blog sharing my experiences up to my November 15th wedding. But now that I’m a NEWLYWED, I am so excited to begin guest blogging here on EAD Living! I was so honored and touched that E and A would ask me to be a part of this new venture.
Just to share a little bit about myself with you all, I am 32 years old and have worked in the Interior Design field for 9 years now. I’m a sales rep at a trade showroom and work closely with designers and architects on their different projects. Before that, I graduated college with my degree in Interior Design, and a minor in Business. Although right out of college, I decided that going to work at a design firm wasn’t for me, I still entertain hopes and dreams of one day opening up my own store – kind of like the one in the “Ghost Whisperer” – and offering my services out of that storefront. I love decorating, furniture, accessories, antiques, lighting, paint colors, bedding, curtains…. you name it. While other girls may dream of and save for expensive clothes and purses and shoes, I’m usually busy daydreaming about how I’d like to redo my kitchen or what type of fabric I’d like to get for the pillows on the couch. My house is definitely not “done”, and my “look” morphs and changes dependent on what I have available to me and what my husband likes! Plus, because I’m exposed to so many different “looks”, colors, and designs that are all pretty, it’s so hard to choose just one for myself.
I’m hoping to share with you cool little decorating tips and ideas I have or come across, recipes, and maybe sometimes my thoughts on life as a newlywed. Also, feel free to ask me any questions! I love to help out others and give my opinion when asked, and I promise I don’t get upset if you don’t like it and go in another direction!!! One of the ideas I was toying around with was a Q & A once a week where I will answer questions you all send in regarding furniture, colors, design, etc. – what do you think??
I’m looking forward to all of this, and hope you all are too!
