Our theme for January and February is Organize. This could not come at a more convenient time as our house is insanely unorganized after the holiday travel and projects. Here are the areas that I will work on in the next two months:
- Pictures – We haven’t uploaded all of our pictures to our online gallery. My goal is to completely back them up on our gallery and then to post the pretty pictures on Flickr and Facebook. I also would like to print at least 50 of them and put them in a simple binder. We haven’t printed any of our pictures in at least a year. The alternative is to print them in a Blurb book instead of an album.
- Kitchen – We have these exposed shelves in our kitchen that I love. Sadly, instead of putting functional items that I use daily on the shelves, I’ve put pretty things that rarely get used. My goal is to either use the pretty stuff more often or switch it out. We’ll also get rid of anything we haven’t used in the past year.
- Studio – Our studio is an absolute disaster, and every table is covered with projects or equipment. Our bookshelves have turned into a messy monster. It’s hard to find items because of how much stuff we have (all of it needed for our businesses). To top it off we just went mobile with two laptops, so our desk is no longer as functional without the desktop. My goal is to set up two workstations, organize our equipment, and reduce the clutter by completing any unfinished projects. I’m afraid my husband will be the key person on this as I tend to get overwhelmed.
- Closets – Our spare bedroom has two average size closets. My goal is to reduce our “junk” to fit into these two closets. This will require installation of more shelves. Can you tell I love shelves?
- Bathroom – This will be the easiest project. We just need to do an annual cleanup, including throwing away any expired makeup and medications, donating any unused items and overall organization. We’ll also need to go through our linens and make sure everything is in great shape.
Those are my goals for the next two months. Hopefully the result will be an organized house and mind, and a decent tax write off from our local thrift store.

I’m liking this list, I pretty much just copied and pasted it to my monthly “to do” list. :) Hope you don’t mind!
I think everyone should do this at least once a year, maybe more if you like to “collect” things. hehe

You reminded me to continue uploading to flickr. I think I’m about 1/25 of the way through 2008 :) Luckily, I took more pictures than I have ever taken in 2008. Hopefully the other years will go much faster.
