Painted wood paneling

Hi there! I daydream about interior design and color combinations, so subsequently I'm always wanting to redecorate my house (which drives my husband crazy)! I love my husband and our 4 dogs, working in a creative field, a good laugh, and a great margarita. ;-)

Not everyone has beautiful real wood paneling.  Some people, like me, have the fake stuff from the ’70′s . There are lots of options out there to refinish and paint wood paneling, and you don’t have to just stick with white!

White paneling is classic, but how about a bright color?

Or, a pickled finish to add rustic texture?

I think this next picture is greatness!  So unusual and elegant.  If you can paint like this, you should definitely consider a hand painted mural (or come over to my house to paint one on my wall!).

This last picture was featured in this month’s Western Interiors, and I thought it was really cool and unusual how the designer painted the background a different color than the relief parts!

Wood paneling can add such texture and interest to your walls.  And with so many different ways to treat it, you can make it fit into your style.

Next week, I’ll show you part two of recovering my headboard!  Have a great week!

Hi there! I have gotten much inspiration from your site — thank you! I am desperately seeking the manufacturer of the yellow and white upholstered chairs in your dining room picture above. I went to myhomeideas.com and have spent the last four (ugh!) hours trolling through in search of the original — to no avail. Would you be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

  9. We’re a group of volunteers and opening a new scheme in our community. Your site offered us with useful info to paintings on. You have performed an impressive job and our whole community shall be grateful to you.
