Distressed Wood Finishes

Hi there! I daydream about interior design and color combinations, so subsequently I'm always wanting to redecorate my house (which drives my husband crazy)! I love my husband and our 4 dogs, working in a creative field, a good laugh, and a great margarita. ;-)

After years of darker wood finishes everywhere you look, distressed and lighter wood finishes are coming back.  These can be easy to incorporate into your decor as accessories, or as larger pieces.  Our new coffee table has a distressed finish, which will wear well and not show all the nicks and bruises from everyday wear.  Distressed finishes don’t have to be rubbed off and peeling paint, or “country” in feel.  Many modern designs are using reclaimed wood, or lime washes now.  So whether you use a root bowl to put your fruit in, or invest in a coffee table, side table, or chair, there are so many ways to introduce distressed wood finishes into your home!
