Decor: Bright Walls

Posted 03/18/2009 by Rebekah in Decor, Organization \ 9 comments

My interests are photography and crafting. I am a resident of the beautiful southern city of Birmingham, Alabama. You can read more about my life on Honeysuckle Life.

It’s Spring Break in our neighborhood, and that means P-A-R-T-Y! The weather got the message and has been sunny and mild for the past few days. Everyone is spending their evenings at the park with their bicycles and dogs, music is blaring loudly from open windows and grills are rocking. We took our dog to the park on Monday night to enjoy the people and fresh air and he managed to almost kill himself.  Imagine a 65 pound two year old who can run faster than the speed of light.  Now imagine that being running (thankfully avoiding his head) straight into a cement pole.  An unmoving cement pole. That’s Jesse, our youngest. On top of all of this, my day job did not receive the “Spring Fever” memo.

Spring Fever + Heavy Workload + Dazed and Confused Puppy = Late Posts.

If anyone does go crazy and paint, post pictures in the decor section of our Community Message Boards!  I’d love to see what you do with it.

we heart your comments!
  1. Oh! When I get home I will have to post some pictures of my house. There are MANY colorful walls in my house!

  2. i’ve done this! you should see our downstairs – nearly-lime green kitchen and bright-deep rose dining room. the study was a bright turquoise for the first couple years, but i’ve toned it down with a slightly more sedate shade of aqua.

  4. Bright colored walls are a great idea. Although, I’m a bit biased. My kitchen is one of the shades of green you posted. (The hubby’s choice). I was a bit overwhelmed by the color at first, but it really has grown on me.

  5. I love colorful room. I am definitely on the bold side.

  6. I’ve got a seriously aqua/seagreen color going on in my bedroom. I went to Lowe’s, picked a swatch, then next thing you know I’ve painted my room. I love bright colors. To me white/beige walls are blah!

  7. I’m a big fan of the blue. The bottom right pic of the blue paints with the white furniture looks amazing.

  8. I love the rich colors, the purple one somehow caught my eye, really like that shade

  9. I love the colors in the rooms you have shown. They speak of life & vitality. Thanks for the post! In the bedrooms, the bed is the central object in the room, so you’d also need a matching bedding set. It think the timeless contrasts of black and white in some zebra print bedding would go with all the room colors you’ve shown, particularly the red, purple, pink, yellow and blue.
