Product Review: Breville ikon Multi-Speed Juicer

Welcome to the EAD Living blog! We are so excited to have you here. If you are a new visitor, we'd love for you to subscribe to our RSS feed and visit our sister site, EAD Weddings. Thanks for visiting and we hope you come back soon!

A representative from Breville emailed last month and asked me to review their iKon Multi-Speed Juice Fountain. As I have wanted a juicer for several years, I immediately said yes yes yes! You know we’re eager to review great products here at EAD, with the condition being that all reviews are completely unbiased and truthful.  If we don’t love a product, we’re going to tell you.

First, the machine is huge!  It takes up most of our counter space.  If you don’t have a lot of room, I would highly recommend getting the compact version instead.  You lose a lot of the features, but it doesn’t take up as much room.

Second, the juicer is incredible.  From the packaging to the scrub brush everything is perfectly made and well put together.  They even have recipes in the operations manual!  I cannot rave about the quality of this machine enough.

We’ve used it almost every day since then.  Our grocery budget has skyrocketed because of the amount of fruit and veggies we’re buying, but it is SO worth it.

Mmm, tasty. Have you ever had fresh orange juice?  I’m addicted now-can’t-stop-drinking-buying-oranges-in-bulk-from-Costco-addicted.

The only real drawback is the time for cleanup.  If you hand wash, it’s at least 10-20 minutes.  If you use the dishwasher, it fills up most of bottom rack.  Even though it is a pain, for me it’s worth it to have organic juice with no preservatives anywhere close to it.  It would be great for a wedding registry or housewarming gift!

Here’s our favorite vitamin booster recipe from the book.

16oz blackberries
16 oz blueberries
16 oz strawberries, hulls removed
1 lime, peeled

Process blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and lime through Juice Fountain (alternating speeds of 1 and 3).  Serve immediately.

We added Flax Oil and Wheat Germ to ours, which made it even healthier!

we heart your comments!

Do you know if it does wheatgrass? I have been thinking about getting a juicer, but I am having a hard time figuring out which ones do wheatgrass.

Whoops! Forgot to subscribe. :)

sara-i’ll doublecheck tonight, but i don’t think it would have a problem with anything you would want to juice. i’ll test wheatgrass on it and let you know!

Awesome! Thanks, Anne!
