Decor: Bedroom Revamp, Part 4
Welcome to the EAD Living blog! We are so excited to have you here. If you are a new visitor, we'd love for you to subscribe to our RSS feed and visit our sister site, EAD Weddings. Thanks for visiting and we hope you come back soon!
It’s been over a month since my last post on bedroom decor. I didn’t have the time or energy to go further on the project. But I’m back, and I’ve made some progress.

Here’s what I’ve chosen so far (You can find complete breakdowns in Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3). We won’t purchase anything until we move to Central America, but because of the bountiful wood furniture in Nicaragua I don’t think we’ll have a problem finding these basic pieces.
I’ve had a hard time articulating what I wanted for the base of the bed.

I like the bookshelf, but we won’t have a lot of books there (everything is being stored because of what the humidity does to paper, more on that later). We won’t need a lot of storage because most of our life is lived out digitally anyway. I need a simple flat surface.
Inspiration stuck in my therapist’s office this morning. I don’t know if it was the high I get after therapy, or my mind had finally noticed a piece that worked for me. I wish I had a picture, but the bench was painted yellow, chipped in several pieces and just looked worn in. I immediately wanted.

Enter the Norden bench from Ikea. It’s solid wood, can be painted, sanded, sledgehammered, etc. If I can’t find a vintage version of my own, this will do. We have a bench we have used for various pots and plants in our courtyard. I think I may grab and see what it looks like in front of our current mess of a platform bed.
One step closer!
