Hi, Julia!
This is actually the first time I've commented on this blog, but I just had to respond to your running posts. I'm in the middle of training for my first half-marathon with Team in Training down here in Louisiana, and I've been wondering about all of the gels and energy supplements I keep hearing about. I'm pretty sure I'd be in the same boat as you as far as thinking those gels are disgusting, so I'll have to try those Sport Beans!

Thanks for the useful info! I used Clif Bloks for my first half, but I'll have to try the sport beans. I definitely did not like the flavor or stickiness of the gels. And YES to Higdon's 12-week program!

Great post Julia! I laughed out loud when you referred to fried cheese curds as little balls of energy. :-)
