I've been struggling with the photo album vs scrapbook issue for the last 2 years. Scrapbooking used to be one of my favorite hobbies, but I just don't have the time these days. I think that I am just going to make photo albums for now but will also insert little notes with the photos, so I can remember some of the little things that were going on at the time. That way, it is slightly more personal than a photo album and will show my little girl that I put time and thought into it. I’m so glad I read this. You can get pretty creative, just as you would in a scrapbook, but they're quicker and easier. They're also a lot flatter, so easier to store! But I do keep up photo albums. I try to upload all my photos every other week and ever month or two print the photos and get them into books quickly. I know for me, I will stay ontop of photo albums and won't loose bits and pieces. I worry with scrap books I would get so behind things would just get lost. I used to do the scrap-booking thing and I have lots of nice albums, but I've started making all of our big "life events" into photo books and I LOVE it! I started with our trip to Greece as a one of Evs' Christmas presents 2 years ago and it was such a big hit that I've begun doing them for each of our big trips and then just for each year. Right now I'm working on one with all of our pre-wedding events as well as photos from my 2 dear friends' weddings. I use Shutterfly and am very impressed with the quality and price.
