Belly Progress

Once upon a time a girl got married in May 2007, moved to a climate that closely resembles Antarctica, supported her husband's grad school decision while she worked full time, moved in above her in-laws, bought a fancy camera, trained for marathons, and snuggled with her disgustingly adorable dog named Henry. And then, she got pregnant and is expecting her first bambino in March 2010. Who said being a newlywed is boring? For more about me, visit My Life In Transition.

I have been diligent about documenting the progress of this pregnancy since the day I found out the news. Mostly because I am a crazy psycho who is obsessed with making albums of our life. I make an annual album every year full of our ‘every day’ life in pictures and posts from my blog. But I knew I would do a pregnancy album, too, full of belly shots, nursery decor, and posts about my thoughts on pregnancy. I think it will be something I love to look back on in the future and maybe baby will even think it’s cool to see how mom changed during these 9 months.

But as far as the belly goes, things like this call for a little collage action. For instance, my first trimester:

And the second trimester, still in the works:

And my latest belly pic, for this week, at 19:

Yes, I know I’m not really showing that much for 19 weeks. But you must remember, I am 5’10″ and have an insanely long torso. Lots of room for baby to grow without making it seem like I’ve popped. As of right now my regular clothes still fit but they are a little snug. I will get weighed again next week at my 20 week appointment but at my 16 week I had gained 6 pounds so far. I have a feeling that number is going to jump next week, enough to give me a heart attack:) And I’m feeling the baby kick up a storm but it’s not strong enough to feel from the outside just yet.

So that’s me, inching towards the halfway mark of pregnancy with 50 pages in my pregnancy book already completed. Here’s to the second half going as well as the first!

we heart your comments!
  1. Ok, so i used to like you… now? Notsomuch! You are 1/2way through your pregnancy and I have a bigger belly than you!!! Oh – and I’m not pregnant. So yes, this is me, insanely jealous… you could call me Elphaba I am so green with envy.
Love the collage and when I have a kid, I’ll be doing the same thing!

  2. A-frickin-dorable you are!!!! That teeny-tiny baby bump is just perfect! Tell me, are you finding out the sex or are you going for the ultimate surprise? How are you feeling? How far along were you when you first felt the baby kick? I love all this and am so excited for you!!

  3. We will find out the sex next week Wednesday. Eeeek! I felt the baby first start moving at 15 weeks, which is really early but it was for sure the baby. Now it just keeps getting stronger and more often! And I really do feel great. More energy than first tri, although that one was pretty easy too. I’m a lucky gal!
