It is my very, VERY favorite time of year. Strange, I am always bursting with excitement in the Fall. The promise of new beginnings, I suppose.

St. John the Divine Procession of Ghouls

Each Halloween, I look forward to my very favorite “spooky” activity. On the Friday night before Halloween, it is our tradition to attend the silent movie and Procession of Ghouls at St. John the Divine. Setting the tone for our newly re-vamped Lemons to Lemonade plan, Mr. D and I will be in New York City next week. I have already purchased our tickets ~Hooray!

What’s the plan you ask? I am not quite ready to divulge every knitty-gritty detail, however let’s just say that Mr. D and I are making progress towards getting all our worldly possessions out of storage in the Bronx - this is a very good thing. If you recall, I only took a few summer dresses and some sandals to “get me though” the first weeks of Summer. It’s late October. I am still wearing my favorite gold birkenstocks and my toes are starting to become very, very cold.

Being homeless and not able to nest the way I like to isn’t getting me down. I am keeping my eye on the prize. Soon, we’ll be settling in back on the East Coast. (HOORAH! No cross-country move!) For that, I could not be happier.

While I have not had the pleasure of decorating for Halloween this year, there is always the promise of decorating next Fall in our new home. So, in order to ease my nesting pains, I have been living vicariously through Martha Stewart’s Halloween Magazine and website. I really do think Halloween is the best Holiday that she “does.” Ghools, pumpkins, black cats and all. Ohhhhhh… how I adore the Fall!

I have been cooking and baking a lot while visiting our families. I have been sharing a lot of my favorite “Fall” recipes on ABCD Design. Below you’ll find quick links to the “very best of the best” in my “Fall” recipe book.

one-pan-whiskey-flavored-pork

Don’t miss one pan whiskey flavored pork tenderloin. It tastes just like Thanksgiving dinner, except is effortlessly simple and prepared in just one pan!

mulligatawny-soup-recipe

If soup is more your style - get your food processor out (or get chopping) and make this mulligatawny soup recipe.

pumpkin-bread-with-chocolate-chips

For a “Fall” sweet treat, may I suggest my chocolate chip pumpkin bread recipe? It tastes fabulous with a cup of steaming hot morning coffee -or- it makes a wonderful dessert. It happens to be Mr. D’s favorite treat.

apple-raspberry-crisp

This apple raspberry crisp hits the spot too. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or a splash of half and half, it is the perfect Fall dessert.

What are your favorite Fall recipes? Please share links to them - I am always looking for new delicious dishes to add to my repertoire!

The apple raspberry crisp looks so good! I’d never think of combining apples with raspberries.
