Blissful Bathing
Welcome to the EAD Living blog! We are so excited to have you here. If you are a new visitor, we'd love for you to subscribe to our RSS feed and visit our sister site, EAD Weddings. Thanks for visiting and we hope you come back soon!
Several weeks ago husband and I celebrated our first anniversary by spending the night at the W hotel in Dallas (we stayed for free with points, woohoo!) where I was introduced to the line Bliss. My wallet has been regretting it ever since! For me, a big part of a good skincare product experience is the smell, and Bliss seems to specialize in scents that make my shower experience blissful. I’m guessing that is where the name “Bliss” came from? :) I got by as long as I could using the hotel size samples (it was getting kind of pathetic how rigidly I was rationing out my nickel size portions of body wash each day, just to use on my arms and chest so I could soak up the smell), but then someone tweeted about 20% off at Sephora and I knew it was time to bite the bullet and get the full sized products. I bought a full skin care lineup, and one luxurious (for me) splurge.
Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, $29
Pore Perfecting Facial Polish, $30
Best of Skintentions Moisturizer, $35
And the splurge, Lemon + Sage Soapy Suds Body Wash, $18. I love this so much that when we had guests spend the night recently I hid it and made them use something else. Awful I know.
I’ve been using the skincare set for a few weeks now and I don’t think my skin is clearer, but I blame that on the pregnancy. It is definitely smoother though, and I get lots of comments on how I am “glowing” lately, although that could be chalked up to the pregnancy as well I guess. The Soapy Suds though, is heavenly. I love the combination of lemon and sage, and I swear the smell sits on my skin even after I get out of the shower.
My Christmas wish list now includes the Lemon + Sage Body Butter Lite to really help the smell last through the day. Anyone have any suggestions for perfumes with lemon or sage notes that would complete the set for me?

This reads like blatant product placement! Were you paid by Bliss or Sephora to write this?
I wish I hadn’t wasted my time reading this.

I’m sorry — the above comment was unnecessarily negative. If you weren’t paid and the posting was just your positive thoughts on the product, I am very sorry. I should have just emailed you rather than posting. Sorry again!
@christina – thank you so much for reading EAD! i want to clarify that Elizabeth Anne Designs does not allow any form of paid content on either EAD Weddings or EAD Living. jenna was simply reviewing a product line that she loved.
thanks for your response. Snark got the better of me. A bad morning but no excuse! But I am glad you don’t do the paid content thing.
you’re so welcome and we’re glad we don’t do any paid content too! :)
If you’re looking for a specific scent, I can’t recommend Bath Junkie enough! (I checked, and there is a store in Dallas, too!) You pick your product, custom-blend your own scent from more than 200 essential oils, and choose the color of your product. Their bath products are divine, and getting to choose your own scent (and how strong they mix it!) means you love the product you take home. I even had my bridesmaid’s brunch at a Bath Junkie store! (no paid promotion here…I just really am a Bath Junkie!)
I love, love, love Bliss products! Just wish they weren’t so expensive…but the smell is worth it!
I”m essentially a Bath Whore. I love allll bath products. I used to have a blog reviewing them all but stopped a while back. Now in my downtime I may revive it. Anyways… I’ve yet to try the Bliss line but now I feel the need to go try it out!
Christina-I always like when people write about products they like. Sorry the post came off as smarmy to you!
Ashley C-I might have to swing by Bath Junkie and see what I can whip up. I would love to have the lemon in the Bliss one be even stronger.

Jenna,
Bliss is my absolute favorite too! I got hooked the same way you did. I got free samples at a conference held at the W. I found myself squeezing every last drop out of the “youth as we know it” samples before I caved and got the real stuff. I love their spa treatments but I find their products at home are so great too.
You should ask TH to stay at the W when he’s on the road – he can bring you back the shower samples! Housekeeping is usually pretty generous if you ask for an extra [not that I've tried it... but i have!].
I’ve been using their products for years. I especially adore the fabulous foaming face wash! I use Philosophy shower gels now (highly recommend if you like fun scents), but I used to use the lemon/sage body wash too (I’m pretty sure they changed the name, it used to be Soapy Sap and now it’s Soapy Suds). Looks like you’re onto a good thing!
I love this line of products! L’Occtaine has great products that have a light scent but they are pretty pricey.

Unfortunately this is not product placement – Jenna paid top dollar for it (I would have loved it to be otherwise). And now that I see the prices I can certainly tell why we’re running a budget deficit. Why can’t we all use a $1 bar of Irish Spring and get along?
I adore the Bliss products. We’re lucky enough to have a Bliss spa in SF, and it’s actually where I get my brows done, too.
To go easy on your wallet, you can find many Bliss products at Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx. This might help… a little :)

I love Bliss products, it’s a shame they have so many chemicals in them. Especially since being pregnant, I’ve been trying to cut back on the chemicals I put in my body, so it’s been bye-bye to a lot of my favorite products.
