@Ami – The bookcases are from Target. They are available in the stores, but also online in white. I love them because they look expensive, but were relatively cheap!

@Linda – Our house definitely doesn’t feel like ours yet, but we’ll get there! And then we’ll have to move. :) Such is military life.

@Courtney – Thanks for the Target suggestion. I’d looked at Target’s website for living room chairs and other furniture, but dining table chairs slipped my mind! I actually lucked out with a fabulous Goodwill find, will share soon!

@Rebekah I have to say, I agree. Sometimes the pressure from design blogs and magazines is too much. Honestly the reason I want to do some work on our home is because it doesn’t feel like ours yet. We don’t have many family photos displayed or artwork hung. It just doesn’t feel cozy yet to me.

This is on my to do list as well. I recommend target for dining room chairs (and target online has much more selection). We bought some last year and they were much cheaper than anything I found elsewhere and I get so many compliments on them!

I agree. We moved into our new place at the end of last year and it doesn’t feel like ours yet. Slowly getting there!

one of my new years resolutions is definitely to spruce up our apartment! first on our list is a new sofa! we have also been in our current home since may and have not hung anything on the walls, so perhaps we’ll tackle that project this weekend.

i think your place is looking great – i love the bookcase in that first photo – it’s gorgeous!
