Hi! I'm the editor and publisher of Elizabeth Anne Designs. I live in Chicago with my hubby and puppy and am passionate about the Atlanta Braves, pumpkin pie, and traveling around the world!

Those of you who follow Elizabeth Anne Designs on the wedding side are sure to know that the Inspired Creations Contest is going on right now where wedding vendors are creating awesome DIY ideas on a budget.  One of the entries we posted on The Sweetest Occasion, created by Bella Rains Garden Studio and photographed by Lavender & Twine, showcased pretty DIY metallic glitter chargers, which are so easy and would be fabulous for any tabletop or dinner party!

You will need:

  • plastic chargers
  • 1 can floral spray paint, Brilliant Silver
  • 1 bottle Mod Podge, satin
  • 1 bottle Martha Stewart fine glitter, Hematite
  • 1 small craft brush

Directions:

Outdoors, spray your chargers with spray paint in fine layers until overall coverage is achieved. Let dry 5 minutes.

In a bowl (disposable, can not reuse after mix) pour a small amount of Mod Podge. It gets tacky fairly quick, so it is best to mix in smaller batches. Add glitter to Mod Podge and mix. The amount of glitter is dependent on how sparkly you want your charger, these have a high glitter to Mod Podge ratio.

With the craft brush, paint on mixture in fine layers. Allow to semi-dry between layers, and keep painting on layers until the desired amount of glitter is achieved (these have 6 layers).
