A Sweet Pink Nursery

Posted 09/13/2011 by Ami in Decor \ 4 comments

The nursery has to be the cutest room in the house, right?  That’s definitely true for this adorable pink and green nursery shared by Rita Rojas-Sullivan.  I just love the soft green gingham, the clean white furniture, and the beautiful teddy bear mobile!  Definitely a room befitting a gorgeous baby girl. :)

Costa Rica

We just returned from an amazing week in Costa Rica! Our good friend Stacey had wanted to make a trip to the rainforest, so we decided to tag along and I’m so so glad we did. It was a fabulous week full of good food, rainforest adventures, and lots of pool time! We used Latitudes to book our itinerary and our first stop was the organic coffee plantation Finca Rosa Blanca.

Finca Rosa Blanca has individual apartment-type rooms, we had two …

Frog Theme First Birthday Party

Crafty mom alert! This adorable first birthday party is all about Ethan and the Frog Prince.  Ethan’s mother handmade all the desserts and decorations, including the cupcakes, cake, fondant frog prince and all the darling peace frog accents. I just love the precious pictures from Cheryl M. Photography (especially the ones of Ethan and his birthday cake!), the sweet baby blue and sea green colors, and Ethan and the Frog Prince’s matching crowns. :)

Mother-Daughter Lemonade Stand

This is such an adorable little mother-daughter shoot!  Collette from Brier Rose Design styled the sweet vintage lemonade stand setting, and spent a lovely afternoon with her daughter Brierlyn playing and laughing while sipping lemonade and enjoying the gorgeous California weather.  Brierlyn is cute as a button, and the images from Kim Robbins are ones I know they will treasure forever.  Love this idea for some “Mommy and Me” keeper shots!

Machu Picchu

Peru is so high on my travel list (not top 5 but close!), and the mystical Machu Picchu is definitely the reason.  A good friend actually spent the week hiking the Inca Trail in May, but I think I would be one of the visitors that chooses the Inca RAIL over the Inca Trail, just like Phil Van Nostrand of phillipvn.com.  The amazing images of his trip to Machu Picchu are really making me jealous right now and making me …

Budapest & Vienna

Posted 08/17/2011 by Ami in Travel \ 5 comments

Aside from having *super* crappy weather, my sister and I SO enjoyed our time in Budapest and Vienna! Budapest is an amazing city, full of gorgeous architecture, great food, and really helpful and kind people. Our home base was the Corinthia Hotel Budapest and we absolutely loved it there, especially the pool and jacuzzis after a long day of sightseeing. The main attractions in Budapest are the Parliament building (second largest in Europe), St Stephen’s Basilica, the …

Patiently Waiting…

Hi everyone!  I know it’s been a couple of weeks.  I just wanted to write to say a huge thank you for standing by for a little bit while EAD Living was silent.  I’ve just been a bit overwhelmed with my job, travel, and the weddings side of Elizabeth Anne Designs, and something had to give.  But things are starting to settle down a bit, and I promise my little scheduling hiatus is OVER!

But I do need to be greedy …

Furbaby Friday: Help Needy Puppies

Posted 07/15/2011 by Ami in Pets \ 0 comments

Today’s Furbaby Friday features some of the cutest little furbabies around!  I’m a big supporter of the Chicago rescue One Tail at a Time.  They concentrate their efforts on dogs that are in danger of being euthanized, or those that are physically and/or mentally deteriorating in a shelter environment.  They work to rehabilitate them, place them in foster homes (and pay for their care while they are being fostered), and match them with their perfect forever families.  Basically, they do …

The ABCs of Ami

Posted 05/17/2011 by Ami in Life \ 3 comments

Saw this fun little ABC on Tara’s blog and I thought… why not?  Apparently we are supposed to post a picture of ourselves.  Since I’m currently in the fat stage of my battle of the bulge we’ll go with one of my favorites from the skinnier days.

A. Age – 31

B. Bed size – Queen, but I desperately want a king.

C. Chore you hate – Hmm.  All of them.

D. Dogs – Being a furmommy is the best thing in the world.

Brunch Tabletops

I get together with a few friends each month for a brunch club, and it’s coming up this weekend!  I’m so excited to celebrate Chicago turning the corner towards summer.  If brunch is your favorite meal too, here are some pretty brunch table ideas to use for your next get-together!
