I love this combination of colours – it probably comes as no surprise that teal is one of my favourite colours. Last night I went to a Fashion Show*. Bearing in mind I live in a small village near a slightly larger town, I was really going along to support the charity. But, talented girl …

House To-Dos: Gallery Wall
Spring is around the corner, and this April we celebrate two years of home ownership. For the last year, N and I have been hard at work making our house even more of a home, checking things off our house to-do list. I shared part of the list in a previous post, but then I neglected to keep blogging about it! :) Most of our work was purely decorative as our house was new and in pretty good shape when …

All Things Bright & Cheery
Every single year right about now I start falling in love with all things bright and cheery, and I’m not the only one! Pinterest is covered with yellow inspiration, and Ami posted about Fresh & Fun Yellow this month. Yellow touches for the home can help brighten things up and bring in a little touch of sunshine as thoughts start to wander towards spring. That and it is hard not to be happy when in a space with bits of …

Nautical Spring Style
Hi there! I hope everyone has survived this brutal winter we’ve had! Luckily, Springtime is just around the corner with some warmer weather to lift our spirits. And along with the new flowers coming up, there’s lots of cute new fashions and accessories for your home.
One of the influences I’m seeing everywhere is nautical. It seems like the water beckons us whenever the temperatures rise, so it makes sense that this is such a classic look for spring and summer.

Fresh & Fun Yellow
I may just be jonesing for summer, but I’m just head over heels for yellow lately. And it’s so verstile! It can go from elegant and grown up to funky and chic in no time flat.

Turquoise and… Anything!
My favorite color right now is turquoise! I’m loving it with all sorts of accent colors, like…
Turquoise and orange – lurve me some cheery and bright orange:

Let’s Hear It For Honeysuckle
With the new year upon us, there are all sorts of experts out there predicting what we’ll see and love in 2011. One of them, the Pantone Color Institute, has predicted that THE color of the year will be….. drumroll, please…. HONEYSUCKLE!
Pantone describes it as a “dynamic reddish pink” and calls it “encouraging and uplifting”. So why did they choose it? “Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor.”
In the coming year, you’ll see shades of honeysuckle …

A City Move and a Country Renovation
Wow – the last few months have been an incredibly busy time! As you might recall, we bought a house about 90 miles outside NYC way back in June of this year. I spent the Summer playing ‘General Contractor.’ I oversaw the weekend house renovations while the Mr. stayed in the City to work. Summer wound down and our kitchen cabinets hadn’t arrived yet. At the end of August, we bit the bullet and moved our things from storage into …

Stenciled Wallpaper

I’ve had this image on my desktop for a week now. I keep opening it up and staring at it. I’m at the beginning of researching a stencil project for one of the walls in our new pad. Research that includes the amazing website of Designamour, the allover stencil collection at Royal Design Studio, the ancient worlds collection at Modello Designs, and posts from our very own Rachel.
