Frog Theme First Birthday Party

Posted 09/08/2011 by Ami in Birthday Parties, Real Parties \ 5 comments

Crafty mom alert! This adorable first birthday party is all about Ethan and the Frog Prince.  Ethan’s mother handmade all the desserts and decorations, including the cupcakes, cake, fondant frog prince and all the darling peace frog accents. I just love the precious pictures from Cheryl M. Photography (especially the ones of Ethan and his birthday cake!), the sweet baby blue and sea green colors, and Ethan and the Frog Prince’s matching crowns. :)

Farm to Table Dinner Party

One of the great things about living in Colorado is the great access to farm-fresh produce during the summer.  From fresh corn to fragrant tomatoes, everything seems to be in season right now, so we decided to take advantage of the abundance of wonderful food at a summer “Farm to Table” dinner party last weekend.  The meal featured local, organic produce and flowers, and herbs and other goodies right out of the garden!

Our friend Robin, of Robin Cain Photography, was …

Ellie’s Cooking Birthday Party

Posted 05/05/2011 by Ami in Birthday Parties, Real Parties \ 3 comments

Stephanie Frazier-Grimm from Newport, RI’s Couture Parties is one of the sweetest people I know, and also one of the most talented.  I love showing off her creativity (you may remember her from the adorable Lily Pulitzer tabletop and the Safari Theme Baby Shower), so I’m super excited to share her daughter Ellie’s 4th birthday party with you!  Ellie was very involved in choosing the theme for her celebration, and there was no question in her mind as to what she wanted …

Pretty Purple Engagement Party

Posted 04/25/2011 by Ami in Bridal Shower, Real Parties \ 0 comments

Happy Monday everyone! We have the cutest DIY engagement party to share with y’all, and it proves that style doesn’t mean a big budget. The floral arrangements were DIY with flowers purchased at a local supermarket. The caterer was a well known chain restaurant, and the invites were from Target. The perfect inspiration as you start planning those summer parties. Hope you enjoy and thanks to Stephanie Hunter Photography for sharing!

The following vendors participated in Lynette and Mark’s Engagement Party:

Kate’s Lollipop Filled Birthday Party

I love each little detail of Kate’s positively adorable first birthday party!  Planned by her mom, the ridiculously talented Kelly from A Savvy Event, and photographed by Jessamyn Harris, there are lollipops, balloons, and even a (genius) Build Your Own Sippy Cup Bar.  The little ones had their choice of Soy Milk, Regular Milk and Almond Milk, and for the older kids there were “mixers” – strawberry or chocolate to add to their milk!  Kate handcrafted everything from the bunting …

Melissa is a super-talented wedding photographer, and a blog friend of mine. She’s also furmommy to the absolutely precious Dixie, who recently turned the big 4 years old! To celebrate, Melissa threw a fun backyard puppy bash, and Dixie’s friends were treated to yumalicious puppy treats, including a cake from Phoenix bakery Bone Appe’tit. Charlie says he is jealous. And just check out how adorable these little ones are in their party hats. Love!!! Thanks …

Eli’s sock puppet themed 1st birthday party is absolutely precious! Using a party printable package from Parties by Hardee, Eli’s mom created the most adorable little celebration. The package comes with templates for cupcake toppers, party hats, drink stickers and more.  Too cute!  Thanks to Heather Mount Photography for sharing!

Isn’t Eli just the cutest baby? Love those cheeks!

The classic “I’m 1 and can eat big cake now” photo!

Happy birthday sweet Eli! And thank you to Sarah and Heather for …

Jana’s Arizona Bridal Shower

Jana, an EAD Weddings Phoenix blogger, shared her poolside bridal shower a few weeks ago. We thought it was so cute the Living readers would love it. The shower was hosted by Jana’s maid of honor, bridesmaids and mom. They did such a great job with simple decor and fun games.

Jana’s mom handmade the jam for favors!

Love the giant initial J, Chiavari chairs, and simple floral arrangements.

The table runners were also handmade by Jana’s mom.

My Best Friend’s Wedding

Please excuse the cheesy post title.   Nothing else would suit. There are few people in this world who make me more happy than my best friend Lisa.

You know those people you meet and instantaneously can’t imagine your life without?  The ones who you have graduation parties with, who cry with you over that jerk ex-boyfriend, bring you chocolate ice cream by the gallon, and do cartwheels with you on the beach?

That’s Lisa.  And I’ll tell you what: the only thing that …
