Hi Everyone!  I am so, so happy to be back blogging here at EAD – and I just want to start off with a huge “thank you!” to Ami and Rebekah for inviting me to join them as a weekly columnist for the EAD Wedding Blog.

Every Thursday, I’ll be sharing with you some of my favorite wedding invitations, stationery trends, gorgeous calligraphy, ideas for Save the Dates and escort cards – and really anything else paper-related that you think might be useful.  So please do let me know in the comments section if there’s anything that you’d like to see and I’ll do my best to deliver!

To start off, I thought I’d feature a few of my all-time favorite invitation suites.  This is by no means an exhaustive list – but I have to save something for future posts!  As you’ll see over the coming weeks, I have a particular weakness for anything letterpress, but I really just love great design, whether letterpress, engraved, gocco, or digitally printed and whether printed on paper, fabric, or wood.  And most of all, I love seeing the ways that couples choose to represent themselves and their wedding style through their invitations and wedding stationery.

So, first up, these gorgeous invitations by Erica of Thoughtful Day – which I love so much they nearly caused me to re-design my own wedding invitation suite last year:

Erica was married last year in Jamaica and beautifully designed every single detail of her wedding.  Erica is currently in the process of designing her own line of wedding invitations, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of her work here very soon.  In the meantime, you can see more of Erica’s invitation suite here, and lots more from her wedding right here.

Next up, these lovely fabric invitations from Bird and Banner:

The invitation suite was inspired by the wedding’s French Flea Market theme and hand-printed on vintage handkerchiefs and post cards, finished with a silk ribbon and monogram tag.  I’m literally in love with the entire Bird and Banner custom portfolio and had difficulty picking just one design to feature here, so please do check out the rest of their designs here.

These invitations printed by Studio on Fire are relatively new, but still jaw-droppingly gorgeous:

The invitation suite was co-designed by the bride and groom, Ashley Geoffroy and Russell Austin, for their wedding in Puerto Rico.  Studio on Fire printed the long fold-out letterpress invitation, including a perforated RSVP card.  They printed the fabric insert (containing the invite text) separately using a gocco.  I just love the long fold-out design and use of mixed media and printing methods.

These intricate invitations by Lilah Paper are one of my long-time favorites:

The invitations were designed by Lilah Paper owner and lead designer Kalyn Denno for her own wedding in Vail, Colorado in 2007.  I love the entire design, from the inspired typography on the Save the Date to the muted, but cohesive color palette and ornate graphic elements.  For more from Lilah Paper, check out the full portfolio right here.

And finally, at least for today, these absolutely amazing wood veneer invitations from Oslo Press:

I just love the idea of wood veneer wedding invitations – and would absolutely love to receive one in the mail as a guest to a wedding!  The entire Oslo Press is just gorgeous – and they do custom projects!  You can check out more of the Oslo Press wedding collection right here.

That’s it for this week!  Until next week, feel free to check in with me over at my own blog, Oh So Beautiful Paper.  And please keep those comments coming!
