An Eco-Friendly Wedding

Michelle from Green Lily Events shared Tara and Michael’s wedding details with us.  Tara and Michael strived to be as eco-friendly as possible while planning their event, which is one of Green Lily’s top priorities!

Their favors and out of town gift baskets were created from sustainable items – the favors were plantable pots and seeds and the guest baskets (designed by Sweet Couture) contained only local items and recycled bags.

Tara and Michael’s gorgeous organic wedding cake was created by Monica’s Divine Delights.

The lovely floral centerpieces (created by Plants ‘n Petals) were donated to a local senior center after the event.  Many of the flowers were purchased from local farms.  Linens used were in-stock at the rental company, eliminating transportation.

All paper used in the event was recycled or tree-free, including these beautiful purple escort cards.  Paper products by Invitesite.

The confetti tossed at their exit is a product from ecoparti called Ecofetti.  Ecofetti is biodegradable and dissolves in water.

Other ways that Tara and Michael made their wedding “green”: their ceremony and reception were held in the same venue – the Four Seasons Hotel Houston, eliminating transportation costs; all glass, aluminum, paper, plastic, and cardboard were recycled after the event either by Green Lily or the Four Seasons; they purchased a carbon offset for their honeymoon airfare; decor from the ceremony was re-used at the reception.

Thank you so much Michelle for sharing this wedding with us!

In what ways are you making your wedding eco-friendly?
