Real Weddings: Clay + Tiffany

I love showcasing weddings where the choices are as unique as the couple themselves!  Today’s wedding is just that.  Clay and Tiffany’s wedding was sent to us by the always-fabulous Jenny from Grise Photography and Tiffany shared some details of their French Lick, Indiana with us!

Tiffany says:

Once we decided to get married in the Big Red Barn at The Ranch at Valley of the Springs, most things fell into place. Since we live in the DC area, we had to relinquish a lot of control during the planning process, relying on the internet and my mom and aunt to help plan our wedding in rural Indiana.  Fortunately, my mom and aunt have impeccable taste and I had no qualms about giving them free reign on realizing some of my ideas and coming up with a number of their own.

One of my favorite shots from our amazing photographs is right before my maid of honor and my brother and I are waiting to walk in and I catch my first glimpse into the barn–hearing the bluegrass music and seeing family and close friends that I hadn’t seen face to face in month.  The picture captures my energy and the resignation my brother feels knowing his little sister is getting married–but to a great man.

Bluegrass band White Lightening Boys performed the ceremony music.

Beautiful DIY programs:

The ceremony was officiated by a friend, who was ordained online in order to perform their marriage.

Tiffany says:

We enlisted the help of family and friends the day before the wedding to help decorate the barn–we really had no idea how it was going to turn out.  We had about 40 eager guests–both local and out of towners–scrambling around for tasks to complete!  The day of the wedding is when all parts came together.  Despite the cold and rainy weather, the atmosphere of the barn, the decorations, the celebrating guests, and an amazing local bluegrass band melted the weather away as you stepped inside.

I am absolutely in love with the simple wheat centerpieces in mason jars.  Perfect for a barn wedding and so budget-friendly!

In lieu of a cake, Tiffany baked cream- and jelly-filled cupcakes for her guests.  Look how gorgeous these are!

Definitely a rockin’ party, with tunes spun by DJ Wally Wonder and lighting by Herm Productions.

Last words from Tiffany, and they are ones to live by:

We made every aspect to reflect us and to feel as though we were having a big celebration of family and friends where–by the way–we happened to be getting married!  I never had a ‘vision’ of my wedding day growing up, but with all the help of family and friends, Clay and I were lucky enough to have our ‘perfect wedding’.

I love how completely IN LOVE Tiffany and Clay are!  And Jenny captured their spunk, personality, and happiness perfectly.  More photos can be found on the Grise Photography blog!
