Invitations Part 3: Gathering Supplies

I’m sure you’ve all been on the edges of your computer chairs waiting to see our final invitations! Well, I hate to disappoint, but they’re not quite ready for prime time. To be honest, Nick and I have had little time to work on them lately, what with showers and parties.

I may not be ready to show you the finished products, but I do want to tell you how we plan to pull them all together.

Here’s where we left off: Tackling the Gocco:

Since then, Michael and JoAnn have become two of my new best friends. And by that I mean, I’ve spent quite a bit of time at Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics.

Here’s the rundown of recent purchases:

  • Embossing Powder
  • Circle Cutter
  • Glass Mat
  • X-Acto Knife
  • Cream Cardstock
  • Orange Cardstock
  • Orange Ribbon

We also ordered custom rubber stamps with our monogram from RubberStamps.net and bought more Gocco supplies, including another tube of brown ink to try to recreate the green we used a few weeks ago.

So what are we doing with all of this stuff? Well, we came across these belly belts from Envelopperinc.com and decided we could make them ourselves using ribbon, cardstock, and our monogram. I mocked one up last night (sorry no photo just yet), and it turned out pretty well.

So our tasks for this weekend include:

  • Print and Gocco invitation inserts
  • Stamp monograms onto cardstock
  • Create ribbon belly belts
  • Assemble pocket folds
  • Gocco outer envelopes

Yeah, I’m wondering how we’re going to get all of this done, too. Especially since we’re running our first half marathon together on Saturday morning!

Do you ever feel like you’re taking on more than you can handle?
